The above is what I found tonight and think it's pretty cute and gender neautral...
Below is what we are currently registered for at Babies R Us:
What do you think? Which do you like better? The Graco set is $60 cheaper and holds 35 lbs. The chicco holds 32
Re: Which travel system do u like better?? PIP!
The first one is "cuter", but I'm personally going with the Chicco one (infant seat w/ a snap and go, though).
FYI, the Chicco car seat did get better safety ratings, so we decided to go with that travel system. We got the pattern discovery. It's green and gray.
No one has it yet hardly. Not BRU... can barely find it to buy it online...
I have used the chicco in the store and my friend has one as well that I really liked. Just saw this other one online tonight and I know graco is usually good as well...
This is the one we ended up with also. Seems like the carseat *might* be easier to clean too, compared to the snugride. Course I don't have any experience there yet.
I've heard good things about the Chicco system.
Have you considered just getting a snugride and the snap and go to start with? It's SO MUCH smaller, easier to lug around and works great. When LO is bigger and needs a "real" stroller you can go for a cheap jogger or a nice umbrella stroller (like a Maclaren). Lugging a big stroller around the mall/in and out of the car can be a nightmare.
I have a lot of friends who regretted the travel system purchase and wished they would have gone this route.
We have had the chicco (in green and gray) for over two and a half years now (for DS #1). Trust me...you will not be sorry! We love it! It looks nice, got really good reviews and is so easy to use (the nicest part is that you don't have to bend over to pick it up after you fold the stroller...it folds upright).
BTW...where in Cincinnati are you? I am a teacher also in the area! (I rarely post, but decided I would start being a more active participant).
They fought the good fight, but by the 2nd half, it was too painful for me to watch my 'horns.
A coworker had a baby girl in July and she's already grown out of the snap n go type car seat, so they have to get a convertible, leave the car seat in the car, etc. Granted, TALL baby, but it can happen, so if you think you're going to have tall babies, it makes sense to start with a taller car seat that they can grow into for a little bit.
6 Sept 2009 - natural miscarriage at 9 weeks
Kelly is on to the same thing as Baby Bargains talks about...here's an excerpt...
"Common first-time parent mistake: buying a giant travel system, with matching infant car seat and stroller. These are common shower gifts and many folks fall for the coordinated look...and think their stroller should be built like a tank to protect a newborn from thermonuclear attack.
But many travel system strollers are behemoths - and that huge weight and bulk make them impossible to use as baby gets older, not to mention wrestling it in and out of the trunk.
So here's our advice: get a stroller Frame like the Baby Trend Snap & Go or the Graco Snug Rider. ......
When the baby outgrows the infant car seat and stroller frame solution, then you go shopping for a real stroller. This is smarter for two obvious reasons: a/ you already have a baby and can see what best fits your infant; b) you're more experienced as a parent, so you'll have an idea where you want to go with a stroller."
