We can't get out of our driveway

Our driveway has a little hill in it and it is totally covered in ice.  We have tried to get out several times in several different ways including the grass and it is just not happening.  And I am really kicking myself for not going out for bread and milk last night.  We are seriously scrounging for food today.  Gavin's lunch consisted of old chicken nuggets, raisins, and goldfish crackers.  DH and I are currently eating some week old spaghetti.  The road is totally dry but we are completely stuck.  This sucks.

Re: We can't get out of our driveway

  • oh no! If Abigial wasn't sick, I would totally take you food or go to the grocery store for you. But the thought doesn't really do you any good if I can't follow through. I'm so sorry :o(

  • DH spent almost three hours this morning scraping and eventually pouring kitty litter on our rather steep driveway but he got both of our cars up to the street.

Hope the ice on your drive melts soon!

  • That stinks!  But ditto the kitty litter idea, if you have any.  Or if a neighbor has some.  Or could a neighbor run to the store for you for a few items?

  • DH tried to go to work three times today, but we live on a very steep hill and he couldn't get down it.    I just had to send him to Publix (hopefully he made it!) because I have one diaper left in the house!
  • Yep us too! They are usually really good about plowing the roads but not this time:(
  • I was in the same boat!  If DH didn't have 4-wheel drive, he never would've made it out.  We still have a huge sheet of ice over the driveway.  Cabin fever - BAD!!

  • My car locks are frozen.  :(
