  • i got mine at party city but its not as big as u want it so sorry
  • I'm not sure if it's a local store, but I got one for my sister at Card Factory. It's a party store.

  • I would try ebay - However, I work with a lot of police officers and they strongly recommend NOT "advertising" a new addition to your family

  • I think you are referring to the wooden ones with a little personalized bundle in their beak that says name, and weight and all that.  They can usually be rented for like a week from local companies.  I found a few companies in my area just be googling newborn baby stork yard sign.  HTH!

My BIL is a juvenile detective and they've actually had one in their lawn for all 3 kids. So I guess he at least isn't worried but when I almost bought one my other sister was like no someone will steal him!

Yes, this exactly - I'm not so concerned announcing, we live on a quiet street in a very safe neighborhood.... i had a little apprehension when I first started thinking about getting one

Too funny! I was just coming in to suggest that the poster google stork rentals in her area and mention that I rent them in my area (Lancaster County PA). This is the company I work under ... Kid Krazee. The company is based in NJ and serves the whole state.  I moved from NJ this summer and am bringing it here with me.  :)  They are great. We hand paint our bundles to match whatever the nursery theme. Very cute!
  • That is too funny!! I am so excited to come home to it on my lawn, I love the idea :) A friend of mine had one from your company a few years ago and loves having the bundle keepsake! I actually called earlier today & left a message to see exactly how it works - do I need to place the order now, then call back with the baby's stats or do I just wait to call and do it all at once when he arrives? How soon after the order is placed do they get delivered? We're planning on being induced late next week...

Yes, the keepsake bundle is what really sets us apart from other stork rentals. You just let her know what your theme is and colors and you get a really cute hand painted bundle that you can hang in the nursery after the rental is over.   The owner of the company is really great... you will love her.  She'll be able to walk you through everything when you talk to her but basically you can reserve a stork now by letting her know your induction date and when you want it delivered and then just have DH call from the hospital with the stats.  You can do a 7 day or 10 day rental.
  • What timing - she actually JUST called me back! Thanks for the info, I'm very excited about it!!

My pleasure!  You will love it!  And congratulations on your upcoming induction.  I'm being induced on Tuesday myself.  I'm thinking of putting my own stork out here but then I have to do the bundle and installation myself so it's not quite as fun... :)  I may just do a bundle as a keepsake for his room though.  They really are cute!

  • Yes...Buy Buy Baby has them. They are a giant pink or blue stork and you can put on the name/date/weight, etc.

Just a bit of awesome snark I picked up when I frequented the GP board before getting pregnant ;)... it's at lmgtfy.com

  • In my area they rent them...party supply places.  FWIW, I have heard it's not really a great idea to have those yard signs...it advertises to folks that there is a new baby in your home and well...not everyone has the best intentions.  Sad, but true.

ditto....its really not a wise thing to do;  I have family who are police officers and have heard stories of kidnappings/attempted kidnappings.....there are a lot of crazies out there

edit:  and they work in upper class areas--not inner city

  • I really don't see the point...I mean, you can send out announcements to all your friends (including neighbors you are close to) and family. Why would you want to announce to the neighborhood and drive-bys that there is a baby in your house? I'm not flaming...I just don't understand.
