How many pops do you drink a day?

I have had three cans of diet coke today cause I feel so gross and the fizz helps. You're allowed 300mg a day (says my doc) and one can has 46mg but I still feel bad because when everyone talks about caffeine on here they say they only have one a day. A lot of days I will have more than one.

  • I've just been sticking with caffeine free but, am considering getting something with caffeine today to see if it will help with this horrible headache I have.

  • I try not to make it a habit, but I know I never hit the 300mg...like you said, there really isn't that much in a can.  I drink regular coke.  I know soda's not the best for you, but I also have health issues that the coke is nice for.  I wouldn't stress about it.  Don't drink it when you are feeling good, but if it helps I think it's just fine.
  • I usually don't drink pop - if anything I have caffeine free rootbeer. However, I have maybe 3 teas a week.

    No worries! I'm sure you're fine! And I find the fizz helps my tummy somedays as well (Diet Coke is GREAT for menstural cramps)

  • I've never really liked soda. I drink one every couple of months (maybe). Try drinking sparkling water. They have some good flavored ones now.

     

  • Are you worried about the caffeine?  Could you switch to a caffeine free soda?  I'm not a soda drinker but I did drink seltzer water and ginger ale when I was feeling yucky.

  • You stressing over it is probably worse than actually drinking the stuff!! With my son I was an uber Nazi about caffeine, and with this pregnancy I've been getting really bad headaches-so I drink two cups of coffee a day.  My MW actually advised me to take a little caffeine to see if it would help with the headaches.  I also really enjoy a glass of Dr. Pepper with dinner every now and again. No worries!

    Not really worried about it, but I do feel guilty. I really don't like the caffeine free stuff. I'm a diehard Diet Coke drinker and it's impossible for me to switch from it.

  • I hardly drink coke, even pre-preg. However, once I hit the 2nd tri, I started having bad headaches and read how the caffiene could help. If I have coke, it is usually at work, and its in those tiny styrofoam cups. Most of it is crushed ice too! I usually only have 1 though.

  • have you tried diet rite? 

    it's made with splenda and caffeine free.  that is my pop of choice (at home anyway) when pregnant.  i drink a sweet tea probably 4 times a week and have a cup of coffee EVERY morning.

  • I don't drink any - when I want something fizzy I drink plain seltzer water:-)
  • I hated soda until this pregnancy & now I crave coke all the time!  If we go out to eat & I want one I order a coke & a water so that I don't refill the soda.  At home we have sprite which is caffeine free and we buy caffeine free coke.  I try to only have one a day when I really want one.  
  • I stopped drinking pop/soda over two years ago... but started drinking a pop or two when I got into my second tri. I try to limit it to maybe 2-3 pops a week.

  • I try to avoid diet sodas as much as I can. I occasionally have one day. I drink coffee though.
  • I crave soda.  I have one caff a day and maybe 1-2 caff-free.  The rest is water and milk.  Sometimes if I need fizz I'll have sparkling water, but it's just not the same as my beloved Diet Coke.
  • I'll have one can a day, maybe 3-4 times a week.  I've indulged once this month with a "bottomless cup" at Bertucci's and downed 3 big cups in one sitting.  I'm gonna go have a can right now... YUM!

  • i actually drink soda more now than i did before i got pregnant, and the only reason is because it's the only thing that curbs my headaches. if i get one, i have one can with some tylenol, but other than that...i think iv'e only had one day where my headache was so bad i actually drank two sodas. but, again, i was never really a soda drinker before.

  • I rarely drink beverages with caffeine anyway (it makes me light headed), so I've cut back to none as far as sodas and coffee.  I drink a Sprite every now and then because the carbonation does help my stomach if it's having m/s flashbacks.

  • I have maybe one a week. I also have a Chai latte about once a week, and an occasional coffee. I really hope my taste for coffee comes back after pg. I miss it.
    So it goes.
  • I do not drink soda or caffeine. I just gave up coffee cold turkey and never been a soda drinker. Once in a great BLUE moon I will have a coke but that is it. I have a lot of will power when it comes to this. But not shopping. HEHE

    Cherry cola diet rite is awesome! I think it takes more like caffienated diet sodas than the regular cola flavor. I usually drink those, but I often have regular diet coke or tea if we eat out or go out.
