Does anyone have this rocking chair in their nursery? I really hate the look of traditional gliders, and we want a more modern look for our nursery. I also don't want to spend $300 on it!
Just curious if anyone else looked at it, or has bought it. I haven't actually tried it out in person, yet.
Re: Ikea poang chair instead of a glider? (PIP)
I totally thought the same thing. They look great and are comfortable, BUT they aren't easy to get out of. I tried them out and couldn't imagine trying to get up with a baby in my arms.
I agree with PPs. This chair isn't the worst chair on the planet, but it's definitely not "fall asleep" comfortable. And it is tough to get out of.
I know you said you didn't want to spend $300, but unless you find something on craigslist, you may have to compromise. Take it from someone who is super duper picky about the glider situation. I found this one at Urban Outfitters that came closest to good price + good looks. I just wasn't sure about buying something like that without sitting in it first -- although they do free returns.
DH and I just broke down and spent almost $1400 on our nursery glider/ottoman. I hope it's worth it!!!
They are so hard to get out of! I have to put a pillow in it and I still struggle.
Ours is on a hardwood floor and it has been known to "dump" people out of it. Like, if they are too close to the edge and reach to get something, the chair flips.
We plan on replacing it before the baby comes.
