My in-laws are planning a camping trip this summer for the entire family. I am concerned I will not be up to a lot of outdoors time in late June when I am 32 weeks pregnant. The problem is I haven't told everyone that I am pregnant and am planning on waiting a while yet, since we lost our last baby due to neural tube defects. I want to know more about my baby before getting everyone excited again (first grandchild for the family)
So those of you who are further along, would you feel up to camping at 32 weeks? Or should I just keep making excuses to push the trip earlier/ or not go at all.
Re: Camping at 32 weeks?
I am having the same dilemah... my In-Laws go camping over memoral day weekend every year, I will be 35 weeks pregnant by then and everyone is all pressuring me to make my reservation.
But I really don't think its a good idea being 4 hours from my hospital and my DR when I am THAT close to having my Son.... insanity.
Everyone is all like "thats early, you will be fine" and blah blah blah...
ok, seriously, I'll be frank. You are going to be big and very uncomfortable and peeing all the time, esp. you cruz. Are you expected to try and sleep in a tent or sleeping bag? Just say no!
People hate to have their plans changed. DH was asked to play in a wedding when I was 38 weeks pg with DS. MIL pitched a fit when I said he couldn't do it because he would be 2 hours away. DS was born the day of the wedding! Trust your gut on this one.
Yes a tent.. on the ground... are you farking kidding me??
I am saying NO. We are going to go to my parents lake home instead (My DH and I have our own befroom there with a queen bed)... I know thats going to make his family mad but. A. Its only 40 minutes from my house B. It has a bathroom and shower and C. I don't have to sleep on the ground or the floor. Plus we have went the last two years in a row, my parents deserve to have us some of the time too.
No tent for me. They are planning on getting small cabins with beds, although there is not a bathroom in the cabin. We would have to use the public restroom.
I would not be hiking, just taking it easy. But I am very undecided if I will be up for it at all... Plus it is about 4 hours away
I have a hard time saying no without a reason, but eventually they would understand (I hope)
Pregnancy #2: Sucess! DS born 8-30-10
I'd go- but I am still feeling good with this pregnancy. I only felt good to about week 35 with DS- I flew to Michigan at 32 weeks with DS and was ok- felt good.
But, I really like to camp! If you don't like to camp, maybe think twice about it. You do start to slow down a little at the end.
