Two Under 2

2U1 again in a few yrs?

My two LOs born 11 2/3 months apart.  I definitely won't be ready to get pg again for a few years.  However, I'm considering having two in a row again if and when the time comes.  Having the third by him/herself seems like it would be lonely for him and also harder on me since he won't have a playmate.  Maybe it would be easier to have two sets?  Am I crazy?  There's a part of me that is also considering have 0 more children.  I am hoping that things will feel clearer in a few years.  What are your thoughts?  Obviously I know that this is a decision that you can't make for me, but I would like to hear your thoughts anyway.

A 3rd child seems difficult, but a 2nd pair sounds less....

  • WOW! I never thought 4 kids would sound easier than 3! But the way you put it totally makes sense! and it would be lonely to be the 3rd kid and not have a buddy. Maybe you'll get lucky and have twins! My husband and I plan on stopping at 2u2, but he keeps saying (maybe 3?) and I keep laughing. Good luck with what you decide. But I don't think your crazy, it would be nice to have 2 sets close together

  • we plan on having another two in a few years as well.  Our neighbor did this.  Her older ones are teens now and the younger ones are 10 and 11.  She is really happy with the situation.

It's what we would love to do. Ideally, we'd like to have 2u2, then wait 4 years and have 2u2 again. That way the older two are old enough to not need constant care and would be heading to school quickly, and that way we only have two in high school at a time. Sounds perfect to me. :D

  • I think this is true. My 8 yr old has no play buddies BUT did have 7 years of being spoiled as the only child and grandchild. if we have another i'm not waiting but a yr or so :) or I'll have to have 2!
  • Lol. This is what I was thinking. My husband thinks I'm crazy :) I want the two I have or maybe two more, but I don't want three, especially since we're in agreement that we wouldn't be ready for more for a few years. I was the third after a 10 year gap and it was a little lonely and it's still hard not to envy the closeness my older siblings have since they're less than 2 years apart. I may be projecting, but I'd like two kids or four.
