Re: ***Blooming Bellies Check-in***

  • QOTD BR: We are just starting to do this. We asked for a list from my midwife and Mr. Rhody asked around at work. We want someone relatively close for convenience and who practices at both the hospital I'm giving birth at and the local children's hospital. Other than that, I guess we're just looking for someone we "click" with!

QOTD NBR: We didn't really celebrate my last birthday with everything else going on. Mr. Rhody made me a nice dinner (clambake!), but that's it. Mr. Rhody is turning 30 this year, so I'm trying to think of good ideas!

  • BR:  DD, Baby, DH and I all see the same general practitioner.

NBR:  Ugh, DH and I just discussed this the other day, my 30th is this year too Sad  I will also be 8 months pg when it comes, so not alot of things I can do, or want to do.  Definitly not the surprise party he suggested.  I think I would rather pretend this one isn't happening.  Last year for DHs 30th we spent a weekend at a cottage in his fav place.  Normally we just do dinner out and with friends or family and cake.

  • QOTD BR: Have you looked into pediatricians yet? What are your major deciding factors for picking a ped?

Insurance, mainly. Who's covered, where they are, etc. I am gonna ask around though and see if my friends can help me decide off the list. Drs usually make me nervous so I'm kinda intimidated by the process, but I gotta start thinking about all that!

QOTD NBR: Do you still celebrate your birthday? What did you do for your last birthday?

Last birthday was week 8 of my last pregnancy. It was also around Mother's day. My family was really sweet and celebrated both with me with a nice family dinner. This coming up birthday is 6 before my new EDD so who knows what we'll do this time! Maybe have a baby?

  • BR:  I haven't even thought about it!  I'll probably ask the midwife about it at the next appointment, though.  I'd like to just go to my regular GP if I can, but I'm just not sure...

NBR:  Generally just dinner and cake (gotta have the cake!)  My BFF's birthday is three days before mine, so we usually use that as an excuse to get together for a weekend, too.  This year, my EDD is about 5 days before my birthday, so who knows?!

  • QOTD BR: We haven't yet, but DH's cousin has 3 going on 4 kids and live down the street from us, so we'll likely just use theirs.

QOTD NBR: Yes. Last year was my 30th, DH threw my a party in the city, it was awesome!

  • I'm still here... alive and well. Lil guy is good, moving like crazy. My morning sickness has kinnda re-appered first thing in the morning and make me want to stay in bed all day so I dont get sick. I have felt like a bear in hibranation... sleeping in until 10 getting up eating, puking, watching tv, doing some yoga and napping again by about 2-3. Going back to school in a few weeks is going to kick my butt..

QOTD BR: Have you looked into pediatricians yet? What are your major deciding factors for picking a ped? I have not activly looked, but I have thought about it. Luckily I was a nanny for twins from 6 months to 5 years old, before starting back to school last fall. Their ped was about 15 min from hy house which would be great.... but he loved to over medicate. For a cough the kids would come home with like 3 meds. Not a big fan of that. The other one that is local I am not sure of eaither... she missed the little girls heart murmor until she was almost 4 years old. Also not a fan!!!

QOTD NBR: Do you still celebrate your birthday? What did you do for your last birthday? Of course I do.... I am the only girl in the family and the youngest. Needless to say my husband has picked up my moms nick name for me and that would be "brat". When I was younger I would anounce it like it was holiday or somthing, for weeks ahead of time. This year... was a little different. I was not a brat and did not anounce it. I had told my husband last year all I wanted was a baby. Plus I was so sick i could not even think of eating... so my mom and dad came over to our place and made me dinner here Smile

Wow... that was a long post, sorry ladies!

  • You can add Blue by my name : ))

QOTD BR: Have you looked into pediatricians yet? What are your major deciding factors for picking a ped? I haven?t. My Dr. said that he has one he works with at the time of delivery and he speaks English too. I trust his opinion, so I assume I will use his guy.

QOTD NBR: Do you still celebrate your birthday? What did you do for your last birthday? Yes. Last year we went and got drunk at the beach as a last shabang before TTC. Then my plans changed when I got in a wreck with two taxis. Bad day.

  • QOTD BR: I have no idea how to go about the pediatrician thing?!  I have a list of pedi's in the area, but that's all.  Do I have to interview a bunch?

QOTD NBR: I don't do a ton for my birthday which is fine.  DH will take me out or fix me a nice dinner, but that's about it.

  • QOTD BR:  I just asked my midwife for recommendations today actually.  We want a pediatrician that will work with us on a delayed immunization schedule.  So now that I have names, I'll start doing interviews :o)

QOTD NBR:  Heck yeah!  I love birthdays and can't imagine not celebrating mine anymore.  I'm a child that way.

  • You can add me to Team Pink!  I am alive and bumping again. The bump got banned at work Crying but I've finally been able to work out some evening computer sharing time with DH. I bought him a netbook for Christmas so I can bump!

QOTD BR: No, I haven't checked into pediatricians yet. Or daycare centers, or nannies......

QOTD NBR: I'm a Leo, so yup, I still celebrate my birthday. I turned 30 at the end of July and we had a party in a beer garden at a local bar.

  • QOTD BR: luckily DD has one we love, so we're all set! QOTD NBR: yep, still celebrate birthdays but it's usually low key (a nice dinner, night out, etc). This year we went to Hilton Head Island for a week because it was my 30th!
  • Is it too late for one more?? Due date was moved up today! ue 5/18/10 team blue please!!!

  • I've started thinking about the pedi thing. My OB gave me a name of a pedi, but we may be moving, and I want to know where we'll be living when I deliver so I can find a doctor close to my home. And I would like a pedi who does a delayed immunization schedule.

We do still celebrate b-days. DH and I are 6 days apart, so we do something together usually. He'll be 40 this year, so time to plan something on a more grandiose scale.
