Besides the necessities what extra benefits does your hospital provide, if you know.
Mine has professional who volunteer their time and offer pedicures and massages. The hospital I delivered DS at did this and the one I'm at this time has it as well. I can't wait!
They also have photographers that will come in as well, but that's for a fee.
I think we got a little diaper bag tote too, pretty sure this hospital has it too. I know they used to offer these blue & yellow ones. Now I think the formula companies provide freebies, so I think they're Similac black totes now.
Re: s/o what extras does your hospital provide
I found out last night that I get to keep the pink water thermos they give you.
Is it weird how excited I was by this? LOL.
Pedicures & photographers??!! I'm moving to YOUR state.
I haven't done the hospital tour yet but I'd be happy with a pink thermos too!!!
They GIVE you a carseat? *Jaw on the floor*
Wow!
Yup. It doesn't have the base, it's the kind that just straps into the car with the seat belt so we will only use it when MIL has the baby by herself (which won't be often) or we will donate it to the Women's Shelter. It's supposed to be a decent seat though.
From their Website:
****** Memorial Hospital offers family-centered care, compassionate and supportive staff and physicians, a special care nursery with a neonatologist on staff ? and a warm welcome to every new family.
We offer a variety of childbirth and baby care classes, and a special big brother/big sister or grandparent visitation program. We even offer a free car seat to get your new arrival home safely.
Holy cow! Are you going to Northwestern? I used to go to a CNM there, who delivered for NW, but switched when I got pregnant so we could be closer to home for all the appointments.
candlelight dinners...free thermos'....free pedi/massages...free frickin car seats....
um...we get the baby we deliver LOL. the only thing i know of (from the hospital tour with DS 3 years ago) is the diaper bag with freebies inside.
No, I'm actually out in the burbs.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I think someone told me we may get a piece of birthday cake, but I'm not sure.

Oh, ya they do this too. I remember after DS was born though I really wasn't feeling up to eating a lot just yet though. We had this our first night there, the last night probably would have been a better idea.
