Babies: 3 - 6 Months

What are you gonna do with your tax return?

We are going to finish paying off the medical bills, one more credit card to payoff, get my laptop fixed, and buy lo's next carseat, the rest in savings.

What are your plans ?

Re: What are you gonna do with your tax return?

  • I probably won't get a tax return.

  • we save a portion to pay for DD's summer daycare (it is more expensive than in-school because it is longer), we have a large bill to pay and we hope to have some leftover to pay for me to take the CA bar.
  • With money we have already saved-  buy a car, pay off a credit card and help family out.  These things won't blow the whole wad, we plan to keep an emergency fund plus 3 months expenses in savings.
  • IF we get one we will pay off my student loan, and if there is anything leftover we will get a new TV.... man I hope there is some left for the TV.

  • Keep on renovating. We have an old victorian and DH wants to "restore" it. Did you realize old wood (called reclaimed wood) costs 3X as much as new wood (like from Home depot). Yup, I didnt know that either...

Another tid-bit: if you want oak floors which are native in North America, its dirt cheap, but if you want cherry (native in brazil) then its way more expensive. I dont care, I want cherry, but DH says: but all the brazilians will be envious of your oak floors. UM>>> I dont know any brazilians....

Sorry turned this into a vent!!!

  • Pay off medical bills and maybe get a new tv. Depends on how much we get this year.
  • I have no clue how much we'll get with having a new baby...

  • Pay off medical bills and save the rest (Sylvia's funds and our savings accounts)
  • Sock it away in savings. And some home remodeling stuff - like new insulation and a new door from the garage to the house.

    You know, fun stuff :(

  • Paying off credit card bills. One year I swear we'll be out of debt so we can do fun stuff with big money we might get

  • New windows... ones that don't let a breeze in when they are closed.
  • fix the bathroom!  Our tub has been out of order for about a year (there was no pregnant bathtub time for me Sad) and I'm a little tired of washing my hands over a bowl and then pouring it into the toilet since the sink won't drain!
  • Buy a car and a new camera and lens for my photography.
  • Pay off DHs truck and fly my niece and nephew out this summer for a month (from Tennessee to Cali) :)
  • MEXICO! We have yet to go on a honeymoon!
  • I posted this above but we're getting engaged!

Bf's uncle is a tax guy and he said we should get around $2500 for having DD, plus whatever else we get back.  Hope he's right!

  • We will probably break even but I just wanted to add that tax return = what you file when you do your taxes and tax refund = the money you get back. :)
  • its going towards our new pool/spa! (they are digging as we speak)
  • Pay debt

  • its always Vacation money...and if we get extra from having J then we will start a college/car/whatever fund for him.

  • We should stuff it away in savings, but..

Pay off our car and get new couches!! If we have any leftover after that, we're going to try and get a nice bedroom set.

  • Hmm...I'm not sure. Probably put it away in savings as either down payment money or a "safety net" since we want to buy our 1st home this summer. I do want to use some to buy J's next carseat & a highchair instead of having to plan/save over the course of a few months.
