Gracie will be 5 months on the 10th and I just cannot believe how much she has changed in so little time. It is very strange, I can hardly remember how little she was and how she looked when we first brought her home.
QOTW: The exersaucer. Santa brought it She LOVES this thing. She plays and plays in it all day. She gets mad at it when she can't reach the monkeys and when it makes a noise behind her, she flips her head around to see what the heck that noise was. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen.
QOTW: Best present is a v-tech story book from one of my sisters. He loves it but I do give it to him more than the other gifts but he can play alone with it for at least 15 min.
UPDATE: We just had our 9 mth check up. All is well, we started meats this week and I'll buy some yogurt to start over the weekend. DS is finally sttn but lately he's been waking up at 1am to play but he puts himself back to sleep after 15 min. I'm on the verge of turning off the monitor so that he doesn't wake me up for no reason but I can't bring myself to do it.
Leo is at such a fun age right now. He's learning new things every day, it's really fun to watch him problem solve. He just learned how to clap and does it all the time now. He even does it when we just say "clap," which is awesome because it's the first time we've been sure he understands something we're saying to him.
Charlie is just starting to "play" with his baby toys and I think I may have even caught a little smile today!
QOTW: Leo's favorite gift was definitely his corn popper, from his Aunt. He drags that thing everywhere. Adorable.
Charlie's favorite is his glow worm. Because I got it for him
My kids are so funny. They handled Christmas in such distinct ways...
Jae's favorite gift was the "Big Girl Bike" that Santa brought!! Ohhh, she wrote and email, sat on his lap, and she was specific (because we had to kinda take her to the store and "size" her for the bike and she fell in love with it...wondered why we didn't buy it right there...we explained that "Santa had to *make* it and that we just had to come and get the measurements" heh). Then she was done. She had a gazillion presents (that is not a good thing...I was mad at MIL for that...she is NOT "Santa")...but after that bike...she opened a few but wasn't really interested unless she actually *asked for it*.
Maia's favorite toy, HANDS DOWN, was the "Little Tikes Ride-in Car" Pink and Blue and White in color that came from Santa. She got into that thing and would NOT get out. And it is so cute...she picks up her purse she got for x-mas, waves, says g'bye, and gets into her buggy. : ) She hung in there for opening presents...as long as we took them out the box. She played with each one. But always ended up in her "car".
Sorry. I have the list and a list of questions if you want to take over. I've been way busy at work lately and I try not to get on at home anymore.
QOTW: Hmm..probably the Laugh & Learn Musical Table from my grandparents (I told them what to get) and the laugh and learn microphone thing from us.
Updates: She's 9 months now. She's working on tooth #8. She's sttn in bed with us. She says mama, dada, her version of "what's that?" and bye. She's crawling everywhere and just starting to pull up on things. She gives hugs and kisses. She loves to eat and we're introducing a lot of new table foods. This age is so much fun!
QOTW: Out of EVERYTHING, that he got, his favorite right now is a stuffed watermelon from his Under the Nile fruit basket that I got him. Luvs it!
D is an eating champ. He eats everything that we give him to try. Hopefully he keeps it up. Still recovering from his double ear infection He still has no desire to crawl. He is starting to lift up onto all fours from his belly but since he rolls over onto his back so quickly, he doesn't give himself much time. He's reaching more while sitting so maybe that's how he'll end up crawling. And he is starting to try to pull himself up to sitting from being on his back. Otherwise he's a lot more vocal and I swear he said Mama a couple of weeks ago. Oh, and stranger anxiety is starting and he screamed with my MIL yesterday. He also has started to drop a nap so we may be on just two naps a day and we're starting 3 meals a day. He's growing so fast!
QOTW: they love the Laugh and Learn House my mom and dad gave them. Otherwise, they like my iTouch leather cover (synthetic, CJ!) and a book or two they got.
no updates, just had their 9 month appt: Coop is 20.9 pounds and Spencer is 20 pounds. Doing great! Thanks for doing the check-in, I was wondering what ever happened to it!
Favorite gifts- On the day, one of DD's faves was a huge box of balloons from my brother. It was big enough for her to get inside and there were about 120 balloons in there! It's a tradition in our family and she thought it was fanfreakingtastic. DS- a drum from my parents. He plays with it everyday. They both loved the Cozy Coupe from Santa, too.
DD- 2 1/2- she is getting more and more creative and showing more personality every day. We are working on naming emotions, so she is very into happy, sad, mad, cry, etc. We are on the slow track with PT, but she seems pretty comfortable with the big potty and has started asking to wear "Katy underwear".
DS- Is walking! He took his first steps not long after his first birthday, but still preferred crawling. He still crawls quite a bit, but will make more of an effort to walk and can make it across the room. He is becoming more vocal, and exposes our lifestyle when his vocab consists of mama, daddy, katy, and touchdown. There are a few others, but "touchdown" is clearly his favorite after Katy.
Ali is pretty much an equal-opportunity toy lover. She loves her bounceroo, she loves an alphabet elephant a coworker got her, she loves the tummy time mirror we got her, she loves a lights/sounds book from her grandparents...heck, she even loves the ceiling fan.
She is reaching for and grasping things now--when we take our nightly bath she'll grab the turtle thermometer and shove it in her mouth. She's pushing up on her legs and *almost* rolling back to tummy (which we are NOT ready for b/c we'll have to stop swaddling her!).
QOTW: they like my iTouch leather cover (synthetic, CJ!) and a book or two they got.
Haha, I still think about that and hope that you didn't think I was being snotty or anything!
QOTW: Annabelle had no idea what Christmas presents were all about obviously, but she did really like the John Deer toy tractor with animal noises that my parents got her. She smiles at it and will watch it and listen to it for a long time!
She'll be 4 mo in just a few days! I can hardly believe it. She's rolling over both directions from back to front and front to back, laughing at everything, and "talks" all. the. time. I can't wait to start solids and I'm looking forward to her doing some sitting up! She can do it pretty well assisted right now, and I'm sure in a few weeks she'll be on the verge of sitting up on her own. YAY! She still is such a pill when it comes to eating and nursing, but we muddle through. I hope when she starts solids she'll start STTN. I'm not holding my breath though.
K1 loved all of it. It's hard to pick one. He was so much fun to experience Christmas with because he understood so much more. He still plays with every gift he received. I would say the cement mixer truck is his absolute favourite, but the trains are a close second.
K2 loved his musical table. He loves to stand and play with it and then push it over.
Updates:
K1 is talking so much and in complete sentences. He's gotten so big!
K2 is doing great. He's starting to stand up on his own for milliseconds at a time and falling a lot. :-) I never did update about K2 and his weight. Dr. C says he's on the small side, but he's holding steady on the low end of the percentiles Behold the chub for yourself:
Doesn't he look like a mini sumo wrestler? That's what DH calls him in this photo.
no updates, just had their 9 month appt: Coop is 20.9 pounds and Spencer is 20 pounds. Doing great! Thanks for doing the check-in, I was wondering what ever happened to it!
Dude, that's what D weighed at his appt. on Monday.
QOTW- I think Steven's favorite thing was all the tissue paper left over from all the gifts. But his big present, a big playscape, just went up in the back yard and he loves it! He screamed when I tried to take him out of the swing a few minutes ago. Too cold to play today kiddo!!
Steven is doing great!! At his 12 month check up he was 75% for height, 50% for weight, shots went well, he's not saying too many words yet, but signing a lot. My SIL is a speech language pathologist and says he's right on track, nothing to be worried about, but other 13 month olds are saying so much more. He KNOWS everything, so I know he's super smart. He's been saying bye bye for 4 months now so I thought for sure he'd be saying more than just momma and dadda and "ttt" for cat, but oh well. I swear I've thought he's said so many words once (dog, cracker, bath) but he won't say them again, LOL.
QOTW: Maggie's grandparents basically gave her diapers and wipes so Iloved those . Her great-grandmother gave her the laugh and learn book, which she loves. She also enjoyed the leapfrop activity table we gave her. Santa brought her the laugh and learn home, but she only plays with the accessories (ie letters, balls and keys) so far.
Update: Maggie had her 6 month appt a couple of weeks ago. She took her shots better than she did her 4 month shots so Yay! She is 27 in long (82%) and 14.15 oz for weight (20%). The dr also referred us to a pedi opti for her clogged ducts. We did that last week and they didn't let me in the room and I actually liked that b/c they said they were going to stick something down her eye. I probably could not handle that (I barely can handle her cry when they give her shots). We won't know until a week if they cleared up, but the doc warned up her right eye may need to redone b/c a bone might still be obstructing the passage. Food wise she has regressed and I have been throwing away tons of food b/c she refuses to eat it. But on the upside she makes the cutest faces when I sneak a spoonful of food in her mouth
QOTW: I think her favorite is probably the walking toy we got her.
Alessandra is really keeping us on our toes. She's cruising and has started to let go and stand unassisted for short periods of time. We got her a walking toy for Christmas, and she loves to walk around with it. She loves to eat. She's got 4 teeth now. I hate to jinx it, but she's sleeping really well, both at night and naps.
QOTW: I guess Logan's fave gift was his teething blanket that we gave him. He hasn't really played with the other gifts. He does like the projection mobile that my sister gave him---it helps him to fall asleep every time. But, it's not a toy gift, so I didn't know if it really counted...
Logan is doing well. He is finally 6 months old. He rolled from back to front (and back again) on his 6 month b-day. We thought he was teething, but we were wrong...oh well. He recently went through his first ear infection, but he came through it just fine...in fact, we brought him in for eye gak and found out that way it was an ear infection--he was never fussy as I hear that many kids are fussy when they have ear infections. I am cool with him not being fussy, but the sucky part is that we don't have a signal that something might be wrong. what 'cha gonna do?!

Adley will be 4 months old on the 10th -- wow time goes by quickly!!! She has found her voice and it is loud!!! Not that she didn't babble before, but now she squeals constantly and tries out different pitches/volumes and usually at inappropriate times, like 3 in the morning. The other morning DH and I woke up to her giggling and shrieking at her mobile. Other than that, she is STTN -- 10 to 6. She is now rolling to her tummy and decided that she is a side sleeper now. DH and I took her into the pedi the other day because she was super fussy and seemed like she might be teething. While talking to her, we discussed that she was very right dependent -- looks right, leans right, etc.although she can look left. Well after Dr. Lincoln man-handled her, she determined that her neck was tight and that she might need physical therapy. So her 1st appointment is tomorrow. Hopefully she will be able to correct this soon and that it does not become a problem for Addie.
QOTW: Addie's favorite gift was a frog that clips onto the car seat and jingles. (She's a low-maintenance baby.)
CJ-nah, I didn't think you were being snotty! I really did care so when they grab Jay's leather belts, I make sure they don't chew on them and trade out my synthetic cover for it instead. I'm glad to know that info, so I won't be so blase about leather now.
NDK-love the sumo pic!!! love that belly, I want to blow a raspberry on it.
Lynda-OMG, I can't believe my boys are actually the same size as someone 2 months younger! wow, you do have a good eater! haha! WTG, D!
QOTW: the camera we got him he LOVES. He got some trains he adores and this fun guitar.
update: He loves to pretend he's a doggy. HE gets on all fours and goes around the house woofing and batting at balls. He usually rolls over to his back so you can scratch his tummy. It's too cute, but every time I get the video camera out to film it he stands up and runs over to wake at it.
love seeing all the updates!

Thanks for posting, NDK! And I looove the sumo pic of K2 - so adorable! He's got some chub!
QOTW: C loves the toy tv remote from his nanny and pops - he has been going after the real thing so it's nice that he has his own now. He also loves the Laugh & Learn farm we got him. He really just loves all his little toys now and just goes from one to the next putting them in his mouth!
Update: I can't believe how much he is changing and growing - and so fast! He went from scooting around to actually crawling - and now it's hard to keep up with him. I am desperately trying to baby proof everything. He also just got his first tooth when we were home for the holidays. And he is a great eater - he has enjoyed eating everything we have given him so far.
There were so many Christmas gifts that I can't really pick one; however, let's just say that my kids seem to be most interested in whatever toy the other one is playing with--my new role, REFEREE!!!
Josie is doing great! She has picked up the pt bug and went all day today with no accidents in her big-girl underwear. (she did wear a diaper for her nap). I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up by thinking she'll be fully pt in the next week or so. OH! She was pretty delayed with her language development but she has made it up by leaps and bounds. Can you believe she says, "actually?" And she uses it in the right context?! (well, I'm surprised).
Tommy is amazing DH and I! He is soooo verbal. He is up to 30 words and he can even say, "Josie." (Josie couldn't say Josie until a few months ago)! We pretty much abandoned teaching sign language. He is starting to fight back against his sister when she takes things away from him--again, my new role is REFEREE!
QOTW: They love their laugh n' learn farm. Luke will just smile back at the blinking smiley face, and Joseph loves eating the eggs and veggies. I bought it for them based on all the buzz on this board.
Update: Luke is trying to crawl, but so far all he's managed to do is scoot backwards. I'm scared. Joseph is so strong but he's just not that interested in rolling or crawling. But if you support him, he'll do sqats all day long.
Aside from almost dropping Luke on his head today things have been great. They're STTN amazingly well. They like to wake at 5 a.m., which hurts, but we have a good system. DH goes to bed earlier than I do and wakes up with them so I can sleep longer. He gets more time with the boys in a day, and mama gets some much appreciated sleep.
7 months gets from me.

QOTW: FP Laugh and Learn house. DD loves to ring the doorbell on her laugh and learn house and crawl back and forth through the door
DD is FINALLY crawling! She took off on December 31 as if she had been crawling for months (she had only scooted backward and sideways). I am loving this age!! She can clap on command, point, wave, click her tongue, blow, say mama, dada and dog. It is much easier to communicate with her, even though she can only sign 'more'. She is pulling up on everything, has 3 bottom teeth and loves to bite. We regressed a bit in the sleep department after spending 2 weeks down south for Christmas so we're trying to get back on track. I cannot believe she is going to be 1 is three short months She is such a sweet and happy girl. Now we just need to get rid of her double ear infection/sinus infection!
QOTW: She's really enjoying the soft book that we got her; she loves the crinkly pages. She's also a big fan of the veggies on her L&L farm (courtesy of my parents)
Updates: Things have been going well. She's up on all fours now, buy like Luke she can only manage to scoot backwards. She was sleeping great but it has been totally disrupted the last couple days. I want to say we have a tooth coming in, but i was wrong last time. Solids are going well; still holding strong at 2 meals/day but I feel like we probably need to increase it soon.

Aside from almost dropping Luke on his head today
things have been great. They're STTN amazingly well. They like to wake at 5 a.m., which hurts, but we have a good system. DH goes to bed earlier than I do and wakes up with them so I can sleep longer. He gets more time with the boys in a day, and mama gets some much appreciated sleep.
7 months gets
from me.
I love hearing about all of the sweet babies!
I cannot believe she is going to be 1 is three short months
She is such a sweet and happy girl.
