3rd Trimester

Ahh! I think I have hemmies!

I have been so sick with this pregnancy and thinks were starting to look up.  I'm 31 weeks now and I feel pretty good.  I still get sick but not as bad.  Now I have a little back end problem.

The Prep H stuff I have says it just "temporarily relieves pain and itching"  How do I get rid of this for good?!!!!  It's just a small problem now but I've heard it can get much worse and I want to get rid of it before it's out of control.

  • Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it will prob get worse after birth.

  • I don't know what actually makes them go away other than having the baby.  I'm starting to get them.  Going to the bathroom is a chore right now.  And the bad thing is, I have to go every day or sometimes 2x a day...OUCH!  I'm going to be picking up some witch hazel pads.  My older sis says they're the best to relieve the symptoms before/after delivery.
  • According to my doctor the only way to actually get rid of them is to have them surgically removed. I find that taking a stool softener, drinking plenty of water and using Prep H greatly help.  I use the Prep H wipes when I go to the bathroom because they aren't as harsh as dry toilet paper.  And then follow up with Prep H cream.
  • So they don't just go away on their own?!!!!!!!

Ugh, this kid is trying to kill me!  I don't want to think about surgery :(

  • Luckily im in no pain nor am I itchy...but "feel my pain sista!" LOL (not physical pain, of course)....because I got one that is on the outside right now and it just is NOT cute!!

  • I think you can try to push them back in..but they will eventually come back out, LOL....sorry....hey, on the bright side, guys get them too!! YAY!! LOL
  • There's not really anything you can do to make them go away and, sadly, they will probably get worse after birth. My doctor gave me this advice. He told me to take Colace twice a day. This I am not doing. Instead, I am consuming a lot of fruit and a lot of fiber. It makes all the difference. Basically, everything in the kitchen cabinets now has fiber in it. I do use the Preparation H wipes after using the restroom. It's been about two weeks and I no longer have pain or itching. My hemi was very mild and this might not work for someone who has them worse. Good luck and feel better.
  • They're not going anywhere for a while (unless you have them removed surgically). They will get worse after birth--I had two mild ones during pregnancy that got really scary during delivery. They're almost gone now, though.
