step MIL vent ahhh

so my bfs step mom decided  she wants to to buy the crib for me and i was kinda hesitant cause i didnt wanna put that burden on her but she insisted so i picked the crib i want and i was talkin to her on her thoughts and she said she likes this one at babies r us and i said i didnt like it cause i had seen it in person and it wasnt sturdy and its big and the one i chose is really sturdy and just like it same price

the babys room is purple and i want a black or white crib

she wants the wood color, i dont like cribs like that no offense to anyone but black goes better with my crib set and just everything :[ ughhh she wont listen and im not selfish i just want this for my child and she keeps pickin out things she wants and is assuming this is her child bc she couldnt have any and she keeps saying she wants the baby over everyday blah blah ahh ughh

how do i tell her i want this crib and she told me to choose which crib do i want !?

    First off...sorry you are having to go through this! ugh. If she is a reasonable person beyond all of the recent excitement just sit her down and tell her that you really appreciate her wanting to help but you have your heart set on a certain crib. If she is still unreasonable then I would just go ahead and get my own..that's what I had to do that way I got what I wanted. This is your baby and you are going through all of the ups and downs you deserve what you want. I like the black and purple theme that is too cute

    I would just tell her again that you don't want that crib, you have one picked out and if she doesn't want to buy it then you will just buy it yourself. I don't see what the big deal is if it's the same price then why does she even care? Honestly, why did she even bother asking you then if she insists on getting the one that she likes.

    If she still gets you the one she likes, make sure she gives you a gift receipt, then return it and get the one you want!! Good luck!

    ugh my mil is the same way!  i try not to be annoyed by it but sometimes it's hard. my advice is to just be as direct as possible.  my sil is great with being upfront and still really nice about it and everyone respects it and no one walks on her.  i would register for the crib you want and then forward her the information.  if she still insists on buying you what she wants i'd be direct with her and thank her but tell her that her choice is not yours.  and then i'd order what you want and have your bf deal with any ensuing drama.

    1)tell BF to talk to her

    2) buy a changing table or chair in black or white NOW and then tell her you want the crib to match what you have already purchased.  corner her into doing what you want!
