We installed our car seat yesterday and had the police department check it out to make sure we did everything correctly. Has anyone ever heard of getting a certificate of installation from either the police dept or fire dept that is necessary to show to the hospital before they release the baby to you. I heard this somewhere along the way-- but never from a direct source. Can anyone confirm this?
Never heard of that... I guess it could depend on the hospital. When we took our daughter home, one of the nurses walked out and looked at it herself... she said that was their policy. I had the town police do ours and they had me sign something, but I didn't get a certificate and it certainly wasn't required - just gave me peace of mine. I went back when we upgraded to the Britax too...

DH installed our carseat base. When we left the hospital they just wanted to see the actual car seat, no one walked out to the car. Maybe it depends on the hospital??
