Hey girls! My baby is sleeping and I have time to bump a bit.
I would not say I am an expert....but now that Addy is 4 months old I have experience with many different aspects of parenting. clothing, bathing, toys, travel, pumping, STTN, baby gear, airplane meltdowns, gymboree, etc. Oh - of course labor too! It is true they say you forget the bad. lol.
Re: Ask A Mommy! :-)
Hey Rae! I don't have any questions for you at this point because I am too focused on getting this little guy out, but I hope the offer still stands in a few weeks when I am having meltdowns! Any new pics of Addy?
Much Love~
Hey Kristine, great questions! You are so close too! :-)
We gave her a sponge bath every three days or so when she was first home. She HATED baths then. We spread out towels on the bathroom floor and I soothed her (she ate my knuckle) while DH washed her. When her umb cord fell off, we switched to our Summer Infant Tub (the one with the spray wand and mesh sling). She screamed everytime we bathed her, even if we put a warm towel over her to keep her warm. I did use the temp gauge on the spray thing for how warm to make it. We normally did this at night when both of us were home since it was so hard with one person.
Then she outgrew the mesh thing after a couple months and it really started to stink. So I told DH he needed to get a new tub because I was done dealing with a screaming baby. After much research I got the Fisher Price Whale Tub. I fill it a third of the way, hotter then I would have with the temp gauge, and Addy LOVES it (from day one). It supports her back and has a bump thing that keeps her butt in place. She loves to splash in it. I still put a warm/wet towel on her tummy to keep her warms. It was way cheaper then the other tub too.
I am now on an every other day schedule - or if she has a diaper blowout. I used to do it in the mornings, but now that I am going back to work in a couple weeks....I am starting at night to work it into our routine.
Hey Labbie - any day now! :-) You are probably so ready. I was miserable at 37 weeks! I am thankful she came early.
Just for you:
