what do you do with the younger DC?
I'd like to sign DS#1 up for something like my gym or gymboree classes but don't those places require parent participation? Would I have to get someone to watch DS#2 during that time? I can't imagine a baby & toddler being in the same class, right?
Any insight?
Re: If you have your older DC in activities,
We do a playgroup and library storytime, both of which are pretty informal and LO just tags along with me.
For swimming lessons, which we have to go in with DD, we do Sunday mornings when DH or I can stay with LO out of the pool.
DD1's Music Together class allows siblings to come along for free until they're 6 mos old. then you pay for them to join the class. it's not age specific.
For MyGym, we'll need to figure out childcare because there's no way DD2 could tag along to that.
Ditto. DD#2 and DS got dragged around. I did private swim lessons with DD#1 2 months after DD#2 was born.
Now, I'm not doing swim classes again until the fall, and it'll be one on one, with the instructor and I won't have to get in with them.
DD1 goes to Gymboree and DD2 stays asleep in her carseat the entire time. If she were to wake up, I can wear her in my Moby or something and it's fine.
I'm actually thinking of switching DD1 to the Gymboree music classes instead.. DD2 can be out of her car seat and participate and it's free for her until she turns 14 months! Can't beat that!
As far as other stuff, story times are now "Family story time" at the library instead of Toddlers, 2s, etc.. Playgroups are all ages, so nothing changes there
