Spinoff- 3 kids, new car?

Currently drive a Suzuki XL7, small SUV type.

DD is in a convertible now and adding two infant seats will not work in the back. I also figured by age 3, she can be in a booster kind of seat (smaller and not as bulky) and I can somehow manage all 3 back there.

 Does that seem feasible?

Im told by so many that its not going to work and should really consider a mini van.

I have a very mild car payment on that car as well as our vehicle so getting something new and a bigger payment a month, ugh I could do without.

  • It probably depends on the car, but a co-worker with 4 kids showed me these slim-line toddler seats that help accomodate the 2 infant seats for a 3 in-a-row configuration. We haven't tried it yet, but we are hoping to fit 3 across and delay the minivan purchase for a few years...

  • We have a GMC Envoy and our DD is two, I don't want to move her into a booster seat for several more years. We are looking into the GMC Acadias, they have a third row. I really don't want a minivan.

  • If you move your DD to a Radian, you may be able to get away with it. Then when the twins are in convertables you can get them radians too.  They have pics on their website of three across.  (they are all FF though, and you'll probably need RF for the twins for a while.)

    Thank you!
