Chick Lit recommendations

I'm always looking for fun books to read, even though it takes me about a month to finish one these days.  Any ideas?

  • What genres do you like?

  • Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series is great. The books are long and sometimes the first few chapters are hard to get in to, but once you do you'll be addicted.
  • I just finished all of the Twilight books. I just started Jenny McCarthy's Baby Laughs then doing all of the Harry Potter.
  • jennifer weiner - my faves are good in bed and in her shoes
  • Author: Emily Giffin

    Something Borrowed (part 1)

    Something Blue (part 2)

Totally girly and I LOVED them!!

  • I have a few books that were beach reads lying around that I'm done with that are just taking up space. If you want em, PM me your address & I'll throw them in the mail. I'm trying to purge in the new year. I have to go to the post office to send out a few late Christmas gifts anyway.
  • Such a pretty fat - Jen Lancaster.  It's hilarious and oh so real!
  • Historical Autobiography: When Heaven and Earth Changed Places by Le Ly Hayslip

Murder Mystery: Case Histories by Kate Atkinson or The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson

    Sci-fi/Thriller: Clive Barker's Imajica

Wow I'm a big dork. Chick lit...hee hee

    Ok here are my reccomendations:

    Wally Lamb's "She's Come Undone"

    Skinny B*tch

  • Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella, it's a series. Totally chick lit and I love it!

  • Thanks Ladies! I'm a big Jennifer Wiener fan and I've read all of the Twilights and Harry Potter books too haha. I'm into funny, girly, true to life stories. I just got Something Borrowed from the library yesterday and I'm looking forward to checking out your other suggestions.
  • The Shopaholic series. Also a book called Secret Diary of a Call Girl by Anonymous.

    I second this.

And I love the Pink Carnation series by Lauren Willig.

  • If you love the girly books like I do (Shopoholic and Something Borrowed....) make sure you read Lauren Weisberger - Devil Wears Prada, Everyone Worth KNowing, and Chasing Harry Winston.  I'm currently reading Firefly Lane by Kristen Hannah.  I like it bc its about an evolving friendship...one friend who doesnt sleep at all bc of her baby...I can relate!
  • I like pretty much any Jane Greene novel.
  • Basically anything from Sophie Kinsella, Emily Giffin, Jane Green. And if you like mystery (which I just started to on a whim-never thought I would) Laura Lippman is amazing.
someecards.com - I support Newt Gingrich's idea of colonizing the moon if it'll help me get away from Newt Gingrich.

My baby is two!!! Baby girl 9/17/09

My other baby is still a baby! Baby Boy 11-30-11

I read those Lauren Weisberger books too! A good new mom book is Little Earthquakes, by Jennifer Wiener.  It's about 4 different women's stories, loved it!!!

Yes they are! But there are like 7 of them that I know of and honestly it won't ruin the season for you. The books are better but I do love the show...especially Alexander Skarsgard! Yummy!

  • Jennifer Cruise!  It turns out that I don't like a whole lot of chick-lit, but I really like most of Cruise's books for their humor, likable characters, and writing that doesn't make me feel dumber.  They are my favorite "bathtub books."
