Lately I have been in this mood to clean out all the closets and found my wedding dress. I am trying to decide if I should try to sell it, have it preserved or just leave it.
My mom was going to have mine preserved right after the wedding...but never got around to it. It's still hanging (covered) in one of her closets. We just don't have room for it at our place.
Mine is still hanging in the closet, dirty from the day we got married, and we have been married for almost 6 years!
I totally would sell mine but that would require me getting it cleaned first, lol! I'm weird, I'm not sentimental about things I should be sentimenal about, but then am sentimental about other things.
I dont think I could ever get rid of it even if its sitting in my closet! I have saved a couple of DD's favorite clothes and I plan on making a quilt out of them. I plan on cutting the inside of my dress and add it to the quilt.
Got it cleaned (wedclean.net) and then made the mistake of taking it out of the box - couldn't get it back in neatly, so it's shoved in the box in a very sloppy way and is sitting on the top shelf of the basement storage room
I tried selling it for about 6m after my wedding but had no bites.
I preserved mine. I have thought about selling it but SIL mentioned how much she loved it and might want to wear it one day, so I figure I will keep it around in case she ever wants it.
Preserved it and it's stored at my parents' house back in CA. I hear about it every month or so...."what do you want us to do with this thing? It's huge!" I've asked them to ship it....so far that's a no go. (which works for me. I don't know where in the hell I'd store it.)
It's hanging in my closet. Not preserved. I have no intention of getting rid of it, but it irritates me that it takes up a huge chunk of my small closet.
I preserved mine. I'm going to hang onto it in case my niece wants to wear it or if we have any granddaughters who want to wear it (how awesome would it be to wear your grandmother's dress?).
I did nothing with it. I basically wore it, shoved it in the dress bag the next morning and it's been sitting in my parent's closet ever since. I keep thinking that one day I will get it cleaned and finally get it out of their house but I never do.
I wanted to wear my gmas dress that was italian lace and handmade, but my stupid cousin cut it into a short dress to wear to prom. So I found another italian lace one that was close and got it. So mine is preserved hoping someone will want it someday

I loaded mine into the bag on my wedding night and it has been sitting in there at my parents house since about 2 months ago. My sister is getting married and I offered her my dress (since we're about the same size and she is planning a very small inexpensive wedding). So she had it cleaned and it looks wonderful for her wedding at the end of January I'm so happy it will get used again!!!
Re: What did you do with your wedding dress??
It's just hanging in my closet. But I really want me and 4 of my best friends to all wear our dresses and do a "Trash the Dress" photo shoot.

Mine is preserved. Sell it, are you crazy?!!!
I would never get rid of a dress I wore the most important/happy day of my life!
Hanging un cleaned in my closet.
Thinking about donating it to Brides Against Breast Cancer.
