Did you or are you doing anything special?

I went to Vegas with a friend in December for her 30th and it was a blast. DH asked me what I wanted to do and honestly I think I just want to get a hotel room alone and be able to sleep, read, knit, nest quietly for a night. I'll probably go out with friends for drinks too, but I don't want to do anything crazy.

Cake You need a party!

I generally don't do anything big, but I do get together with my parents and brother and celebrate as a family (dinner and a few presents) and I usually go out to eat or grab a drink with close friends.

DH did a lavish, catered event on the back veranda overlooking the gardens at his work (at the time, a historic mansion) for me with all my friends. It even had professional flower arrangements - something I was somewhat sad about not having the $$ for at our wedding. It was beautiful - he so outdid himself.

Wow , that's almost as impressive as calling the yarn store to make sure all the yarn is from the same batch.

Just a couple of friends, we watched the Goonies, it was fun.

I wish DH would throw me a surprise party, but I'm sure he won't. He's not a huge people person like me.

I'll probably have a bunch of friends over for a summer lunch and wine.

My due date is 3 days after my 30th, so I don't think I'll be doing much. If anything, I just hope I'm not in labor. I wish I could have a drink!

Hmmm, it's been a while.

If I remember correctly, my BF at the time got me a cake and we celebrated with friends at my favorite local bar. It was a nice time.

Hubby threw a surprise party for me when I turned 30...haven't really done anything since. Will be turning 35 around the time LO turns 1 month.

My Bestie turns 30th this year and I turn it next year so half way between we're throwing ourselves a party since our DH's probably would get it all wrong lol so May of 2011 will be a rockin good time

I guess I should put some thought into that since my 30th is in about 2 months!

I doubt I'll do much though. We dont' have a ton of friends here (lots of family) and dh is NOT the kind of person to plan a surprise party... I'd be happy with a nice dinner... maybe we'll have our few friends over... who knows!

Like I mentioned in previous post - I was served divorce papers for my 30th.

But I'm thinking I might throw myself a "Stuck in the 30's" party for my 39th birthday if DH doesn't do something for me.

Papa - I'm completely jealous of your party! Will you please send your DH down here (you can come, too!) to have him help my DH?!

For my 30th we had just moved into our first house, so I am not sure my DH even got me something as our minds were so wrapped up in the house. My parents came in town for a long weekend over my birthday, and my mom did all the cooking for a few days. DH and my mom didn't communicate, so they both bought me a birthday cake. I figure 2 cakes isn't a bad way to start a new decade.
