I've already been trying things here and there. She mostly spits them out, but sometimes eats them. I'm not going out of my way yet, but if we're eating bananas, mashed potatos, cooked carrots, or anything else "mushy" I will give her some.
We started with gerber puffs around 6-7 months. Around 7-8 months we started giving him bread, toast, pancakes, and gerber crunchies. Now he eats all kinds of things: grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, tortilla shells, mac and cheese, veggies, etc. Just start with small pieces that are easily mashed. They get the hang of it pretty quickly. Good luck!
I was going to get gerber puffs when I was at the store yesterday but it says for babies who are crawling. DD is not even close. Does that matter? I was thinking about trying some cheerios this weekend??

we started gerber puffs around 6 months and she didn't crawl until 8.5 months so that really isn't a concern, it is more to give you an idea of the right "stage".
we recently tried dices avocado, bananas, pieces of pancake, cheese and tortilla.
