What diaper are your going to use?
So, my shower is coming up and we are doing the diaper raffle.
Well, I just got a text message asking what brand of diapers I am going to use. ??? I dont know, I'm a first time Mom.
I wrote back "Huggies or luvs?...which ever brand keeps the poop inside the diaper."
Which brand do you think you are going to use?

I use whatever works for us - Huggies, Luvs, Pampers, store brands, you name it.
A lot of ladies prefer Pampers but as long as something works I'll use it. It also depends on what fits your baby the best.
Ask for a few different brands and save the receipts so you can take back and/or exchange!
BumGenious 3.0 AIO size XS for the newborn stage.
After that, we'll try out a bunch of the various one-size pocket diapers and pick which one fits her best.
Pamper's Swaddlers
My DH is a Diaper SNOB...LOL
The majority of diapers we have are pampers swaddlers. I think we have one package of luvs.
We started with Huggies, but now we use the store brand or BJ's.
Just a tip- you can save money on store-brand diapers, but NOT wipes. There is no substitute for good wipes- spend the money!
With DD we used Pampers swaddlers at first. Then we switched to Huggies - they seemed to hold the explosions in best! Once she was in a size 3 or 4 we switched to Costco brand and we love those.
We have leftover tiny diapers so we'll try them out to figure out which ones will work best for DS when he arrives.
I'm going with Pampers - I have heard that Huggies does not keep all the poop in.
When he was in NB size, all that worked for us were Huggies. Then when he moved to size 1 he started leaking out of Huggies, then Luvs. We used Pampers Swaddlers, then Cruisers from then on.
Edited to add: my nephew could only use Luvs, so it really depends on the kid. For this next one we'll start with Swaddlers, but I am open to trying other things (especially cheaper ones!) as he grows.
We got a variety of diapers at DS's shower, and ended up having the best luck with the pampers swaddlers, we used those until her was in a size 3 and then we went to the target brand (now UP&UP) and they were very similar compared to the pampers IMO..
This time around we recieved some huggies and pampers as gifts and who knows it might be different since she's a girl and won't pee straight UP out of her diaper lol (i never knew you had to tuck those lil things down!!)
But I'm sure after awhile we'll use the UP&UP brand w/ this LO too..
My DS is still in diapers : ( we're working on that one! But I guess we will have 2 in diapers unlike our original plan!!
When he's a newborn, swaddlers.
As soon as he hits 8lbs, gdiapers. They rock - someplace between cloth and disposables.

I've got LUVs but will probably try others too. My mom swears by LUVs as the only ones that work and I haven't been able to convince her that since she's basing this off her experience 24 years ago, that may not be the case anymore.
I'm getting the picture from people's posts on here, though, that Pampers may be the way to go these days.
I do not have a strong opinion on diaper brands. I buy whatever is on sale or whatever I have the best coupon for. Because of that, we've tried pretty much every brand there is out there. Our personal experience has been that they all get pooped and peed on and, at some point, your baby will have a poop-splosion and/or leaky diaper, and it doesn't matter what brand they're wearing.
I am picky about my wipes, though. I find that Huggies wipes are the best deal for the quality. They can stand up to poopy diapers or can be used to wipe sticky mouths and they smell nice.
Pampers.
I have literally changed thousands of diapers in my life and I think that Pampers work the best. In college I worked at a day care and as a nanny and I think I have seen every diaper brand there is.
