Graco nautilus or Britax Frontier?

Which one would you recommend?  I like the fact that the Graco converts to a true booster should we ever go through the "I'm a big boy and don't want a baby seat" some time down the road.  Looks like they are both rated well for safety so I'm curious what others have experienced with them.  TIA!

  • I have a Nautilus and love it.  I can't speak for the Frontier though.  DD1 seems very comfy in the GN, and she loves that it has a cupholder too.

  • I have neither, but there was a post on this yesterday... gen rule of thumb, people who have one or the other love it.  people who had both seemed to prefer the frountier.  but the frontier does not change to a backless seat, last I checked.  not sure it has the cup holders either... it is also more expensive.  I think it just depends on what you want to spend.  both sound like great seats.  another friend also recommended a high back evenflo booster, but I believe it's strickly a booster, not a ff to booster.
  • I have a question to add Embarrassed

How is the latch system on both of these? I would go w/ one over the other depending on how easy the latch was to work with. I love my Britax Marathon an Chicco Key Fit because they are so easy to move from car to car.

  • I don't have any experience with either one, but ds is quickly growing out of his Evenflo and I really want to replace it with a carseat that is a 5point harness that changes to a booster (when we are ready for that). I did notice that the Nautilus reclines (which for us is a benefit, since we travel a ton and s sleeps in his carseat a lot). His Evenflo relcines as well.

  • I have installed both and prefer the Graco.  So do a few other techs I worked with that day.

I have used latch on the Graco and it was really easy to use but I have never used it on the Britax.  The Britax was a middle seat install with a child over 40 lbs.  The car did not allow middle seat latch install and had a weight limit of 40 lbs.

This.  It's a VERY solid seat.  LATCH installation is a snap with it.  VERY easy.
