PIP - Modern, Gender-Neutral Girl's Nursery!

I hope this works! I am so proud because we had to do this on a budget, and we did the work ourselves (painted stripes, refinished furniture, etc). For those of you still working on your nurseries, it can be done! GL! I also have some of the details on where we bought our items in my Bump bio in case I leave anything out here.

Without further ado, here is our modern, gender-neutral nursery for DD!

Project Nursery - BEFORE " mce_src=""> The before picture... guestroom/catchall.

Project Nursery - After (kind of) " mce_src="">The after picture - we were still moving stuff around.

" mce_src=""> The crib and canopy from IKEA. And yes, we love the Gulliver crib!

IKEA Sofabed and DH's shelves " mce_src=""> IKEA sofabed (Hagalund in white), and DH's shelves, built by hand.

Refinished dresser, Target rug, JC Penney Rocker " mce_src=""> My project: refinishing this old dresser/changing table. The rug is from Target.com, and the rocking chair (which needs pads) is from JC Penney.

Cute!!! How hard was it to put the Gulliver together, and were all the pieces included? We've had mixed luck with IKEA over the years...

Thanks! According to DH it wasn't too hard to put the crib together (he surprised me with it one day). The only thing is it did NOT fit in the doorway of the nursery, so he actually had to take it apart and put it together again. Lesson learned - before you put it together, make sure to measure the doorway :-)

Oh, no! Haha, the same thing happened to my brother. He told us over Christmas to make sure to assemble the crib in the nursery for that reason.

Did you get the target rug recently- if so do you have the name of it at all? Our nursery has hardwood floors and we've been looking for rugs- that one is so cute!

Yes, the rug was a recent purchase online at Target.com. It arrived Christmas eve and it should still be available. Here's a link:

The colors online don't do it justice. In our case, they seemed a little bit brighter?

We are also doing a modern, gender-neutral nursery so I love to see inspiration pics! We may also consider the Gulliver crib...it's so inexpensive and has received good reviews.
