s/o Toilet Paper-- Family Cloth

Okay, I never heard of this until the poll below (bad EFFer I guess) but I just googled it.  For those of you who do Family Cloth and Cloth Diapering, do you just wash them all together?  Really just a curiosity question (esp as my husband shudders even at 'when it is yellow, let it mellow')

Re: s/o Toilet Paper-- Family Cloth

  • DH does that as well... he gave me the BIGGEST side eye when I mentioned it before, but I don't see why you couldn't toss them in together. Poop is poop right? If you use cloth wipes on your baby's butt and toss those in with your CDs, you would, in theory, toss the family cloth in as well.

  • yes, we wash it altogether. only used for me & lucy though. it's a little too much to think about my husband using it too--some things are better left un-eff. and he does use a lot of tp. at least it's recycled.?
  • I just throw it in with the diapers.  And DH uses so much TP that I think he's contemplated using it as well just looking at the cost of it and how much he goes through.  Plus, he's heard me say often enough how much nicer the cloth feels over the paper.
  • I would like to know more about it - experiences etc.  I could see us doing it a bit - don't know if we could give up the TP completely but could really see us (or at least me) using it on occasion.  If we could cut the TP usage in half I would be thrilled.
