I mostly just wore the hospital gear (I had a C and only got up when need be or to go down to the nursery!). When I did go down the hall, I was glad to have packed a short (knee length) cotton robe and loose yoga pants from Target. **The looser and higher waisted the better if you have a c/s!!** I also had slippers to throw on from Target while in hospital.
As for home, I liked the target nursing camis. I EP (exclusively pump) so it was nice to just pull a tab down vs. having to pull up my shirt every pump session. I lived in yoga pants for the 1st few weeks (either from Target, Old Navy or Gap).
Oh, and as much I thought I'd never wear them, I was sooo thankful for "granny panties" (I'm talkin' the BIG ugly cotton ones!) since they didn't touch or irritate my c/s scar.
I agree with pp. I EP'd with DD. I hated the target nursing tanks, though. Too short for me - I have a long torso. I did wear target's crappy nursing bras because they are only about $13. I bought a nursing tank from glamourmom (expensive!!) but they are longer and more "flattering"
I wear the Target nursing tanks under my regular clothes when I leave the house. I couldn't afford to actually buy a bunch of nursing tops, so it basically accomplished the same purpose just by buying a few tanks to rotate under my normal shirts. At home I pretty much live in my Motherhood nursing tanks. They are so comfortable and they don't actually have a hook to undo so I like them better for night time when I am half asleep trying to feed my boys. They just pull to the side.

I can't say a whole lot about Nursing clothes. I never got to nurse DS. I did EP and lived in my nursing tanks for the first few weeks when we were home. As pp said, I would just pull my shirt up and the tank covered everything else. I did get a few nursing shirts from Motherhood on clearance (6-10 each) I'm not a big help, but I did love my target maternity tanks. I have a long torso and I just got a bigger size. It gave me a little room for when I hadn't lost the weight yet (or bloat if you want to call it that too)
