::Sigh:: Looking at a new convertible car seat for Evan as he is close to hitting the 20 lb mark which is the limit for his infant seat. Any recommendations?? There are so many out there, and it's so hard to decide. (Eli has an Alpha Omega which we liked. Have been looking at Britax Marathon as it is recommended for our Pilot.) I would also like to get something that reclines forward/rear facing and that I can purchase at Babies R Us as I have a coupon and gift cards to use.
Help!!!!
Re: Please recommend your convertible carseat...
we have this one in my car and i really like it. we have the cosco scenera in DH car and it is nice too. the true fit is fancier, but takes up a lot of room rear facing. the scenra is more "bare bones" but still comfy and takes up less room rear facing.
we have the britax roundabout. it works great. I know we looked at the more expensive britax models too but opted for this one...and I couldn't tell you why but we're happy with the decision
This is the one we have. So far so good
I believe it goes up to 35 rear facing, and then 65 forward facing. And is supposed to be good for smaller cars since you can take the headrest off when they are shorter/rearfacing so it fits better in the backseat (DH can still drive my car with the carseat behind the drivers seat).
We have a myride in my car, and a scenera in DH's. Before the accident, we had a true fit in my car.
I love all three. I'd look for something with a high RFing limit, and a taller shell. The myride, true fit and the sunshine kids radian are probably my favorite seats.
I would absolutely not buy a roundabout. IMO, it's a waste of money. You can get a seat that will fit your LO for much longer for less than a roundabout costs. Most kids will outgrow the shell height LONG before the weight limit. The shell is extremely short.
