i've had this pain in my upper right abdomen.... about 3-4 inches under my bra line.... it's achy and burning, and only really stops when i lay flat on my back.
i have chatted with my obgyn about it, and she ran some blood work, and my t cell count came back high, but it was riiiight when i was getting over strep throat. so i have to go back in and have my blood work redone on the 19th.
so here's my question- could it just be a strained muscle?
if gets worse i'll reschedule my appt and go in sooner.... but have you heard of such a pain/ had one yourself?
Re: have you heard of/ had this??
I have a similar pain, and I'm about 95% sure it's from LO's foot being jammed in my ribs. If I rub the location gently for a while, I can get him to dislodge his foot for a bit, which relieves the pain.
If your pain changes with position, maybe it's just due to your LO's position? But I've also read that localized, consistent pain could be the result of gallbladder or other organ issues, so it's definitely worth getting checked out.
I have the same thing! Sometimes, when I reach for something or move suddenly, it feels like something is stabbing me (it's the skin/muscle over my ribcage, right below my bra). Otherwise, it feels like burning and pulling.
My mom said she had the same thing when she was pregnant and the doctors didn't know what it was. I assume it's just my muscles stretching to accommodate baby?

Someone posted about this a while back. There was a link with some good information on what it was...I think it was muscle-related. Maybe do a board search for it.
Also, my doctor said it could be caused from the liver (I think) and baby fighting for space. He said the liver is in a fixed position so things start to get cramped, which could cause the burning/tingling/etc.
This for me too. Her head feels like it is up in my ribs and it is really uncomfortable at times!
