Last night I started dinner (nothing really fancy - I had to run out the door as soon as DH got home) which was chicken nuggets and mac n cheese. Whoohoo! Julia Childs, here I come! Anyways, I had to leave to go pick up Luke from the airport so I had just started the food for DH to finish cooking. I got home really late with Luke so I didn't pay attention to the kitchen at all. This morning I walk in there and when DH finished off the mac n cheese he ignored the whole stick of butter in the butter dish, took out the box of butter, used a new stick for the mac and cheese and then left the box of butter, and the now used, but still in the wrapper half stick sitting on the counter.
Yesterday I walked into the kitchen to find the peanut butter jar on the counter without the lid on, and the jelly jar sitting out.
I don't understand how he can't finish a simple thought.
Vent over.

So, you're saying he's a typical man?
DH does the same sort of things and drives me batty.

I do a lot of these things.
But God help him if DH puts underwears in with the cold cycle clothes on laundry day. Underwears are washed in HOT water.
Unable to even.

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
Inability to complete a task = most guys? I don't know, but I swear it affects even the most thoughtful man at times.
Which is weird because my guy is a rock star at work...follows through, catches other peoples mistakes and so on.

Chip clips are way too difficult to think about when you have a "male apparatus" to keep up with. I mean seriously, we have no idea how much responsibility it is to have one. ;-)
DH can't be bothered to throw anything away either, but he's slowly gotten better about leaving perishables out on the counter.
My biggest pet peeve with him: he throws his coat on the floor when he comes inside. Come on! I don't expect him to put it in the closet, but drape it on the chair or something!
First thought to come to mind, he's a typical man.
I work 3-11:30pm, DH works 7am-6pm. When I get home at night, there is always an empty bowl, empty gatorade or water bottle and various other things sitting on the table next to the couch. Is it really that difficult to throw that stuff away before you go to bed!?
This is our situation. Used to be he really didn't see it needed to be done; now he does, but until recently didn't understant that doing the dishes includes cleaning the sink (dishes are his responsibility) or cleaning the kitchen includes wiping down the stove, etc.
visbile empty/clean sink - 1/2 empty dirty dishwasher - dish goes in sink AND he takes the time to put water in it to "soak"...
JUST PUT IT IN THE DISHWASHER FOR CRISSAKES!
