Does your LO eat around the same time of day every day?
DD got herself on a pretty regular schedule but lately she's all over the place. Her last bottle is usually around 8:45-9pm and she eats every 4hrs or so but lately she ends up with a bottle at 7:30pm or 8pm but she isn't ready to go to bed and I don't know how to adjust her times...
Re: Eating schedule?
DS has never had a schedule. I envy mom's whose little ones eat every 4-5hrs. DS is big - 26 inches and 16lbs at 3 month check up. At 1 month he took 6oz at a time. Now the most I can get is 3oz a time about 10 times a day.
So I'm no help obviously. However, I don't always like to eat at the same time so I guess I can't expect that from DS. Hope your DD gets back on track.
Before I came back to work, Lo was on an every two hour schedule (yes a nightmare - i BF). When I came back to work at first we pushed him to 3 hours and slowly we have been increasing ounces and time in between. I once got mad at my mom while she was watching him while I was at work because she fed him an hour early! I was really mad bc I was trying to get him on a schedule and then I was afraid I wouldnt have enough pumped milk for him.
Well after this Christmas break - 2 weeks home with him - I see that it is so hard to keep him on a schedule! First, he doesnt sleep through the night and I will feed him at night. (he's 4 months) So his first meal is never at a consistent time. Then some days he is more hungry than others - growth spurts? Other times he sleeps through his eating time! So hard! From what I have read, and it makes sense, a routine is more important than a time schedule.
My guy heads to bed between 6:30 and 7:30 though. Wish I could change that! After her 8pm bottle, just keep the actviity boring! She'll get sleepy and maybe her bed time will move up a bit.
L is on a pretty set schedule, feeding within a regular 30 minute time period. Some nights tho he is super tired and goes to bed earlier. I don't fight it I just let him sleep and wake when he is hungry (we are nursing tho)
He typically nurses at 7am, 10am, 12:30pm, 3pm, 5:30pm, cereal around 6:30, 7:30pm then bed at 8, he is up at 11, 3, 5 as well. He nurses about 10 times in 24 hours plus cereal. Sometimes he skips the 3 or 5 am nursing. A few nights ago he fell asleep at 6pm and slept till the normal 11pm. I just feed on demand and dont' worry about the times, he just has created this schedule for himself.
