If your BF baby spits up a lot...

Hi - did you try to eliminate dairy from your diet? My son spits up a lot after he nurses and seems a little uncomfortable after he eats until he spits up. he doesn't cry or seem upset though, but when I supplement with formula (allergy free formula) he is happy and doesn't spit up.

Just wondering what others have tried. Thanks!

  • my friend says if she eats a lot of sweets, the next day her baby spits up a lot.

  • I thought about trying that, but eventually he stopped spitting up as much. Now he spits up a few times a day, before he used to spit up after every feeding. I just make sure to burp him well and that helps a lot. And DH learned not to play "airplane" after he's just eaten. It was gross :)

  • Try logging what you eat and see if there is a coorelation. I have found that if I eat say pepperoni she spits up more. So I don't eat it now. And the same for some other foods.
  • DS was spitting up a lot, not sleeping well at night, fussing after spitting up, etc. The Dr. put him on Axid yesterday for reflux. We'll see if that helps. I did cut out dairy but it only helped his eczema and my supply dropped from not getting the calories.
