I used to cut them after he nursed and fell asleep, but now he naps in his crib. I try to do it while he nurses, but he moves too much and isn't relaxed. I hate doing it ever, but now its even worse.
I used to be terrified to do this because I clipped DD's finger once. But now she loves it! I lay her on her changing table and sing to her and she just watches me! it's actually awesome!
we just plop him on our lap and do them when they need cutting. it's helpful if he has something to look at to distract him, like the dog or a window or mirror.
I hate to admit this but there are times I will either put the tv on so she stares at it and stays still or I have DH entertain her by making faces and acting like a goofball.
I do it while he's on the changing table. He is pretty good about it. Recently he has been moving a bit more. We also do it sometimes while he's taking the bottle with DH i will go in and do the nails!

either when she is sleepy or I hold her and DH will do the cutting. It is getting increasingly more difficult to do. The toes are even worse because DD has ticklish feet.

Sometime I flip on the TV b/c he'll sit and watch it for a couple minutes w/o moving around. Other times I do it while his daddy is feeding him a bottle (although that doesn't really help you b/c you EBF)

DS just sits and watches me do them. I keep a fairly good grip on the one finger that I'm doing and let the rest of his hand move around. Patience is my friend in this case, sometimes it takes 20 minutes!
When I do his toenails (which is rarely) he just stares in amazement, it's pretty funny actually.
Thanks all! I got them done while I was catching up on some tv via laptop. He likes watching tv (which isn't very often), so I guess that's when I'll do it.

I've never cut them.
I once filed them when they got a little sharp.
