OK twin mommies-baby weight?

Those of you that have lost your baby weight tell me how! My girls are 4 months old and I still have 15 lbs to go. I breast feed but have struggled with the last 15! It is holding on for dear life. I want to work out but I work 32hrs a week and no time to go to the gym...tips please!!! how long did it take u all?

Re: OK twin mommies-baby weight?

  • i have lost, as of tonight, 22.8lbs - since the last week of Sept - on Jenny Craig.

I have not exercised - just followed the diet --- and have also cheated here and there (special occasions, holidays) and still lost. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

It's mindless - no thinking... no counting... no cooking-- and the food is good- and i'm not starving or anything.

I orig only joined to lose 20lbs but it was so easy to do that i'm going for another 15-20lbs.

  • With DD, it took me a LOOOONG time plus a weight watchers membership.  I tried to remind myself that it took me 9 months to get into that shape, it would take me at least that long to get out.  I figure with twins, it will take me 18 months to get out  Big Smile

With BFing, you're likely to hold onto those last 15lbs until you stop.  Your body is making sure that it has the resources to keep producing milk.

  • I agree about the BFing - when I stopped I lost another 5 lbs within 1-2 weeks (without changing anything else).  As of today I have lost 50 of the 55lbs I gained during pregnancy.  I wish that I could give you diet tips but I know the reason I am losing weight is because I don't have time to eat as much as I should be (DH works alot and when I am home by myself I don't take enough time for myself).  I don't feel good about losing it that way, one of my New Year's resolutions is to take better care of myself.

I miss working out... but I figure that in a year I will be chasing toddlers everywhere :) plus carrying twins in carseats is a great upper-body work out :)

    You'll get there :)

  • I gained 54 lbs. I lost 35 in the first two weeks, then regained a few (people brought SO much food to the house and I was just grazing constantly to keep me going in my sleep-deprived stressed phase). I had the babies in January and in June, I started doing Weight Watchers and the 30 Day Shred. I lost most of the weight and was 7 lbs away from pre-pg weight (which was my goal weight) but then I slacked off and I've re-gained 7 lbs. :P (The holidays didn't help.) Back to 30DS and WW for me!

  • I had gained 40 lbs- I can't recall how much I lost within the first two weeks, but I think it was at least 20 lbs- I'm still breastfeeding and have lost all my weight and 10 lbs more than my pre-pregnancy weight- I haven't exercised or changed my eating habits either so I'm attributing my personal weight loss to breastfeeding.

I haven't weighed myself since the Christmas season so I probably gained a few lbs...I'm scared to find out! :)

  • I agree w/ pp.  Some people think BFing is a magic fix to lose weight.  But your body will more than likely hold onto the last bit of weight to make sure you have a bit of reserve since milk production requires so many calories.
  • My boys are almost 4 months old & I am holding on to that last 15 too. I gained 65lbs {eek} and lost 50 of that within 6 weeks.

I think I am going to have to work out or really count my calories to get it off.
