Starting to REALLY think I need boobs before this summer!

Mine are gone...like totally non-existent from breast feeding!  I just want my BF boobs back!  I am totally trying to justify it with the fact that we are going to the Dominican for a trip I won from work in April, then Hawaii for a wedding in June, and I am on track for a cruise to the Bahamas in September.  So I am thinking if I were to ever get them I might as well do it this spring!  I am so not that "type" of girl...I am laid back and have always said I would never do it...but I never thought I would ever be without my "girls"  Talk me in or out of it!

Re: Starting to REALLY think I need boobs before this summer!

  • I can't talk you in or out of it, but as someone who was a D cup in 7th grade and now rock the E cups every day I can say that I have never understood paying for boobs.  I would pay good money to get rid of mine!

  • I totally know what you mean! It's seriously depressing what they've become. Personally I don't think I'd get them, but if you want to and can afford it, go for it! I think if I did anything, I'd want them lifted, not that there's much to lift anymore.
  • I could never do it only because I cannot handle pain. I serious had a difficult time recovering from having dental surgery.

A friend of mine had it done and she was in so much pain. She would call me crying asking why I didn't talk her out of it. She's fine now and I'm sure the pain was worth it. She has no kids and was an A cup.

  • If they will make you feel prettier and happier, and you can afford them...wtf not? I was blessed(cursed, really) with large breasts so I can't offer an opinion based on what you're feeling. But, I'm ALL FOR doing things that make you feel better about yourself. Go for it, girl!

I think I am going to BF forever.

Seriously, I can just pump like once or twice a day if O ever loses interest and then I wouldn't need the implants ;).

  • I was a very perky A and was fine with that...and well now I don't even come close to fitting in my old bras!  I was a full B small C when I was breast feeding....so I am not planning on getting them too big!  I am such a wimp with pain too!  Plus how the heck do you not lift anything...I have a 1 year old and an almost 3 year old!
  • If you really want them, get them.  But don't do it just so you can look good in a swimsuit on your trips.  You'll be stuck with them for the rest of your life.  They get in the way.  They limit what you can wear.  They're a pain in the ass when you work out.

I have 34DDD/Es and would love a reduction.  My 19-year-old sister has 34Fs and hates hers, too.

I'd say if you do it, go for average-sized or err on the small side of the range you're thinking.

  • I always said that I wouldn't do it but that was before I was left with this mess on my chest.  I'd rather not be disgusted whenever I look in the mirror so if that means paying for boobs then so be it.  I need to get the rest of my body in check first though so it will be at least a year.
  • Oh yes, the discomfort. I forgot about that. I have always had large one's also and I'm finally happy that they are shrinking. They may look a little deflated, but they don't get in the way anymore. I really would only want a lift, but when they are big, you'll also complain.

My friend complains that she can't sleep on her stomach anymore. They hurt when she runs even with a good sports bra. And, her back hurts. All the time.

Do what makes you happy and just think it through. You're right about the no lifting. Very difficult with 2 kids!

  • I say, Go for it!  I got mine in September, and it's seriously the best thing I've ever done for myself :)
  • I got them done 5 years ago and it was the best thing ever.  I did not go large just proportionate to the rest of me.  If you are going to get them the biggest misconception is that they will look great as soon as you leave that operating room.  Well, they don't.   They can look a little odd at first so if you are planning on doing it around your vacations do it at least 3 months prior to your vacation.  So you can enjoy yourself on your vacation without any restrictions and your breasts have time to heal.  Implants are not heavy like real breasts since they are not fat tissue.  So you don't have the issue of back pain with implants.  There are a lot of great message boards out there, just stay away from the anti-implant sites.  There purpose is only to scare you out of doing it.  Here is a statistic for you, over 300,000 women receive implants every year.  If you have any questions do not hesitate to PM me.
  • Go for it! I don't really need implants, but I do want a post-baby/bf breastlift. With that comes a reduction of one cup size, so I may get small implants. I was always very anti-plastic surgery, but I now realize how important my own view of myself is. I'd love to be happy the way I am, but I'm not. I'm going to do something about it.
  • I just got mine done a few months ago and I love them.

Going huge is, of course, ridiculous, unless you want that look.  I took in one of my old bras and simply wanted to fill it out again.  So I'm completely proportional to my body.  And my girlfriends would tell me if I went too big.

I suppose if you go enormous, then they'd be uncomfortable and get in the way and you'd have a hard time finding clothes, but if you go to a conservative doctor (like I did) and pick the size appropriately, you'll be fine.

I also had stomach work, which was worse than boith of my c-sections, but totally worth it.

The pain from the boob job was negligible.  The pain wasn't anything like surgery and as I tell my friends, it was akin to getting a cavity filled.  Pun intended.

You can email me if you have any more questions.

I will caution you that the results aren't immediate.  They have to settle into place, so if you're wanting them for a certin timeline, you'll have to plan accordingly.

  • If it will make you feel better about yourself, then go for it. I'm about the same size as you, and I just buy bikini tops with extra padding from victoria secret. Do I wish they were bigger? Absolutely, but its just not conducive to my lifestyle right now. I couldn't handle being out of comission for a few weeks while I recover.

And honestly, even though we can afford it, I think I'd feel guilty spending that kind of money on myself when my DH thinks I look great the way I am, and my self-esteem is fine.

  • I would in a heartbeat! we'll see what king of havoc #2 wrecks on them but I would totally do it.  as my friend you had hers done told her surgeon...."look, I'm the mother of two, I don't want to look like a stripper, I want to look like a chick with great boobs!"  lol

and no--of course you wouldn't be going to an F or a D, that would be ridiculous but when you have "nothing" it would be nice to have something back there again!  I totally get what you're saying.  anyway--yes, do it! ;)

  • I've always been comfortable with my flat A chest but once I'm done BFing this baby we'll see what they look like.  If they are a mess, I am seriously going to consider it.  I would probably go with a B cup since I really was content with the way they looked before kids, so it wouldn't be anything huge and uncomfortable.  I think you should go for it!

  • I think that's a splendid idea!  I answered a post above on the topic.  I have always had large breasts...but when I lose weight I lose in the boobs first!  After having and breastfeeding two kids they are not only smaller but not as perky!  I'm lacking the fullness at the top that was once there.  I've been researching it and looking at a million before and after photos and I've decided that a lift withOUT implants is NOT the result I'm looking for....you lose a cup size or two with just a lift alone!  If anything, I'm getting a lift WITH implants OR just a simple augmentation....I'm hoping just an augmentation will provide the fullness and lift that I need!  I'm going next week for my consultation and will probably have the surgery by the end of the month...but DEFinitely before Spring!

Based on advice from a lot of my friends (one of which is a Plastic Surgeon) spend the extra money and get the new FDA approved Silicone rather than saline implants.  The saline implants are notorious for causing the rippling effect.  There are SO many decisions to make when deciding to go through with the surgery.  My surgeon wrote an article on what all goes into deciding on what type of surgery to have, what type on incision to go with, what size to go with and what type of implant to have.  Of course, we'll discuss all of this in the consultation appt. but it's best to go in loaded with some knowledge!

  • Oh, and I meant to add that my BFF just had hers done last summer and told her surgeon, "Look, I have a 3 yr. old whom I sometimes I have to lift!" and he said, "We tell patients not to lift anything over 5 lbs. for 3 wks, but if you must lift something/someone heavier do it carefully and as infrequent as possible."  Seriously, she said it was the best decision she ever made....she is built a lot like you....long and lean and tall and hers look absolutely natural and proportional for her figure!  I think you'll be glad you did it if you do decide to!  Just make sure you pick the best surgeon possible!  A lot of what people are saying about having super huge ones and having back pain and them getting in the way and wanting a reduction may (or may not) be overweight to begin with and some weight loss may help in that area.  I had a friend who had huge ones (and needed to lose weight anyway) and had a breast reduction and the scars were hideous and they just got big again and she had to have it done again.  And then they got big again!  Bummer!
