Hi ladies! I'm not a stay at home mom yet, but I will be soon. I was just wondering if you ladies knew of any way to clean a microfiber couch, without leaving water stains. Our niece got potatoes on it, and we're at a loss of how to clean it. TIA
Argh, the water spots are THE WORST! We have a microfiber couch, too and the only thing that has worked for us is Woolite with Oxy. I only apply a little, rub it in really well with a damp sponge, ring out the sponge really well and try to "absorb" the Woolite as you work around the stain, rubbing outside the stain itself to prevent water stains.
I use palmolive and water (really diluted). I have mirco fiber everything! couch, loveseat, lounge and recliner! And with 3 cats and a toddler (not to mention DH!) I am forever wiping the furniture down! DD even spit up, almost a whole bottle, when she was little and can't even tell it after I cleaned with the dish soap and water.
How I got all my furniture was, my parents used to have a furniture shop and so from the manufacturer, the suggested cleaning was dish soap and water. So many people came in and wondered if you were suppose to scotch guard it and thats a resounding NO- cause it could hurt the fabric- plus, it voids any warrenty on it.
Lysol spray, I am so not kidding. My brother has a cream almost white microfiber couch and a three year old and she spills everything on it. He uses Lysol in a spray can and rubs it with a clean white wash cloth, when it dries it is perfect. I had to try this at home with my couch and it works every time. I even used it on old stains and they came out. I have no idea why it works or how but I LOVE, yes love it. we use the clean linen scent, I am not sure if it matters. Some microfiber couches come with a tage that says W on them ( those are the only ones that clean well with water) Good luck!
