Hey ladies! DH and I are starting to register after our gender ultrasound this weekend and I wanted to see which one of these your LO's are using. I don't think we will register for both.
Kaelyn prefers the Swing to the bouncer, and we don't have an infant seat. We went with the bright colorful Fisher-Price Rainforest swing, since we use it for play time and not to lull her to sleep.

it totally depends on your LO... most people swear by their swings, but our daughter hates it... she's way more into her super simple bouncer seat. you really won't know what will work until your LO is here.
if i could do it over again, though, i'd register for one of those fancy bouncy chairs that also vibrates and swings... kind of an all-in-one.

Thanks! I thought that the infant seat and bouncer where the same thing. Guess I need to do a little more research!
My LO likes (or liked - he is in a cranky can't please mode right now) the swing. If I put him in the bouncer he would scream his head off. I would either hold off on both or get both because you never know what baby will like.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I think it really depends on the baby. DD enjoyed her bouncer and swing for short times, but didn't really love anything until she was old enough to play in the exersaucer. DS, on the other hand, adores the swing -- we'd be lost without it!
Also, we have the swing in the living room and move the bouncer from bathroom to basement as needed, so you might find having both worthwhile.
We have a swing, boppy and bouncer. Whe likes them all. Right now she is napping in her boppy. A few hours ago, she had a 2 hour nap in her swing. This morning she was chilling in her bouncer. If we had an infant seat, I'm sure she would dig that too.
We got both! A lot of my friends (w/babies) said to go ahead and get both because if you have to go to the bathroom, take a shower, etc. you can easily put LO in the bouncer and poke your head out of the shower to take a peek at him/her. But they said the swing is great as well! So, I would say get both! And a bouncers can be found pretty inexpensively!
I'd go ahead and register for a nice swing, since they can be pricey. DS has a Fisher Price cradle swing and looooooves it (he's napped in it twice today!). We got ours secondhand, so that's an option if you don't get it from your registry.
BTW, our swing goes from side-to-side as well as front-to-back, which is a handy feature. He likes the side motion a lot.
"For a long time there were only your footprints & laughter in our dreams & even from such small things, we knew we could not wait to love you forever."

ETA: I forgot, our swing can transform into an infant seat and a rocker when she's older. https://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2011&e=detail&selcat=bgsw&pid=48212
