Babies: 0 - 3 Months

When did your LO STTN?

I'm just wondering bc as of right now we are no where near STTN and I was really hoping he would be by the middle of this month when I go back to school.

My mom told me most babies start around 2months so I'm crossing my fingers but not holding my breath! Stick out tongue lol...

Re: When did your LO STTN?

  • I heard it was closer to 4 months.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • Right around the 2 month mark but he sleeps like crap now.  There was one day where we were up at 3:45 AM for the day because I tried and tried to get him back to sleep and he wanted nothing to do with it.  ENJOY IT whenever they do start STTN!

  • My LO STTN right at 2 months however, I'm pretty sure this is one of those things that just depends on each individual baby.

  • Mine just started at Christmas and he was almost 2.5 months at that time. I thought it was temporary but he's still doing it. Last night was 10 hours!! I EBF as well.
  • hasn't happened for us yet and my first class starts on the 12th. I'm really dreading it even more since I work full time too and I'm the only one that gets up in the night since I'm still BFing. Oh well. Not much I can do about it. Good luck to you!!

  • I think every baby is different... I wished and prayed our LO would STTN at 2 months... and he is getting there on his own time, LOL!
  • Mine has been sleeping 8 hr stretches since 3 weeks. The last 2 nights she slept 11 hrs. We do Babywise.

  • At exactly the 10 week mark she all of the sudden started sleeping 7 or 8 hours.  Now this is only for the past week, so who knows what's to come...  I'm sure she'll regress at points, but this past week, it's been awesome!!  FWIW, she's 11lbs.

This exactly - except he wakes up for a 5 AM feeding, but right back to sleep.  My fingers are crossed that it sticks!

  • Ok I need everyones help then, I am envious bc I have tried babywise, baby whisperer, no cry sleep solution and NOTHING work. my 5 month old DD WON"T sleep for longer than a 3-4 hour stretch...she will go to sleep just fine, but  repeatedly wakes up throughout the night- sometimes up to 6 or 7 times!!! each time we go in- give her the pacifier and she goes right back to bed just to wake up sometimes 20-30 min later.  We keep it dark, quiet, I don't know what else to do.
  • DD1 - 15 months. Though it's still not consistent..

DD2 - by the book (6+ hours) starting at 5 weeks. The most she's done is 9.5 hours, once. Typically it's around 8, gets up to eat, then sleeps another 2-3.

    BFP 5/07 - Kylie born 2/08.       BPF 2/09 - Alexandra born 10/09.

BFP 2/14 - Missed M/C found at 8.5 weeks. D&C at 9w2d. Partial Molar Pregnancy.

  • sporatically at about 4 wks (5 hrs at the longest).  She started sleeping 6-11 hrs at about 10 weeks.

    1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.

    Delaney: Born 10/15/09

    Gavin: Born 4/8/11

    Baby #3: due July 10, 2014

  • He started going 6 hours around Thanksgiving -- at about 6 weeks. Then it slowly extended from there (with a few backslides) to the point where he was sleeping about 8-9 hours a night by around 2 months or so. The last week or two he's been going 9-10 hours. He even went 11 a couple of nights ago, after a really big day.

I have to say, it's pretty fantastic. Hoping he keeps it up.

  • My LO is almost 3 months and she doesn't STTN yet. Although we have gotten her to sleep for 5-6 hours. That's better then 3-4 hours.

  • At about 5 weeks, DD started doing 4-6 hour stretches.  Around 7 weeks we got a few 8 hour stretches.  And for the last 2 nights, we got 9 hour stretches!  I just think I'm lucky.  No 2 babies are alike and some people do the same night time routine that we do, but LO won't sleep that long.
  • I think your mom is wrong. Some babies do but certainly not most!

My son had his first STTN on Saturday, 11pm-6am. He woke up last night though.

  • Reading things like this makes me want to scream. DD is still not STTN and wakes up every 2-4 hours every night. ONCE shes slept 5 hours and she sleeps the longest usually when we first put her down. So of course I don't get the full 4-5 hours
