Is your dc's carseat...

FREEZING? Granted, I live in the coldest place on earth (Iowa) but my daughters carseat is so cold. I even heat my car up for like 15 minutes before putting her in it but it doesn't help. I guess it will get better when she faces forward and the heat will blow on her seat. Just wondering if I'm the only one who has this issue...

Re: Is your dc's carseat...

  • yes, on our cold nights.  I usually have to put a blanket over him after I buckle him in. I tuck it under him so it's harder for him to pull off.

  • i never did this, so i dont know if it will work or not, but maybe put a towel in the dryer in the am and then put it in the car seat when you go out to warm it up?

i never worried about it because he was always covered in clothing and the car itself was always warm enough.

  • Yes it is freezing and we have rear heat vents that blow on her seat and it doesnt really help much but I am in Alaska so maybe its just so cold it doesnt matter.

  • I havn't done it yet but someone told me they warm one of those neck wraps in the microwave and when they go out to start the car throw it in the car seat to warm it so when you bring the baby out the seat isn't so cold.
  • It is cold and she cries for a minute every time we put her in it.  But once we get her situated and put a blanket on her, she's okay.

I posted something about this a few weeks ago... that they should make heated carseats, like how my front seats are heated.  That would be awesome!
