okay so i've already whined about this - just under my right boob in my ribcage a super uncomfortable pain i've been guessing is a gas pain.. except i have it almost all the time now. i woke up okay but after i ate a bagel and half a cup of coffee, i'm already in it.. it's frustrating because i don't know what to do. i have an appt on wednesday but it's a repeat u/s only, no midwife. my (nurse) mother is making me nervous that it's a bigger deal than i'd been thinking it is..
so i guess wwyd in this position? should i try to grab a nurse while i'm there on wednesday? i don't even know that there are any midwives working that office that day.. is there something more insipid it could be?
ETA: pre-pg i was diagnosed with IBS and GERD if that makes any difference to your opinion..
Re: high right side pain
Does your midwife have an advice line? Maybe you could call in and describe the pain to them and they can recommend something or sort of diagnose it over the phone.
With that said though, if it's really bothering you and you're worried then call and ask to be seen.
Have you had heartburn at all? I had severe pain almost under the rib/upper abdomen slightly towards the right side starting around 24 wks in my pregnancy. Mine was severe pain, although they said my case was one of the worst they'd seen, otherwise it could be as little as a dull aching pain. Anyway, even though I kept saying something to the OB, they had no idea what is was and sent me to a GI specialist who couldn't fit me in until my pregnancy was almost over! Thanks!
It ended up getting so bad for me though that I went to the ER where I was diagnosed almost immeditaly with gallstones/inflammed gallbladder/ cholestasis. I just recently had it taken out so I wouldn't have to deal with the pain when I got pregnant again.
Anyway, I would suggest going to a family doctor or even the ER so you can get helped.
