Your body: better before or after kids?

What did you like better before and what do you like better about it now?

Re: Your body: better before or after kids?

  • I'm disgusting both pre and post kids.  I can't blame any of my weight, or size, on them.  Unfortunately -- I'd love to.  But can't!   :)

  • Ummm...my hair is better post kids? That's about all I can come up with. Having two children has not done this body good.

  • My body has returned to its original pre pg weight but it looks a bit different now.  Although I'm also 40 now too so I hear that can do me in.  I do work out daily but it takes much more now to maintain/lose than it did before.
  • Pre kids, I was about 50 pounds thinner and no stretch marks.

Post kids, I have a pretty nice rack now.

    .
  • I am about the same.  I wish I weight 5 pounds less, but if I really cared, I would lose it.  I am a healthy weight.  I have always been in pretty good shape, so I can't complain.

I would like for my herniated disc to go away though.

  • Pre-kids I was about 40 lbs lighter and had no stretch marks . . . Now, not so nice.
  • Before kids: waistline/abs -- they were kind of awesome

After kids: biceps -- got me some strong pipes now!

promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • my body is jacked up now. hate it all. i was just starting to like my thighs and stomach when i got pregnant. i always had a great waist and calves. i miss them.

  • I am a smaller size and weigh less now than pre-DS (I was an 8-10 before and am now a 4-6), so I am happy with that. I don't like my stomach - no matter how many planks or reverse curls I do nothing can get rid of the extra skin. I think am going to have a tummy tuck after #2.

I am also annoyed that my tiny, A cup boobs never got any bigger in pregnancy or through breastfeeding. I guess I should be happy that they aren't saggy, though.

  • I wish I could find something positive to say about my post baby body.  But other than the fact that it gave me my two girls I've got nothing.  I hate it.
  • Pre kids I could rival JLo's bod (and had my sanity) but now I just think I can Wink

  • Pre and post kids I was/am skinny.  I weigh a little less now that before I got pregnant with Kate, but I still wear all the same clothes (well, pants.  My shirts all got inexplicably too short.  My boobs are not that much bigger, so what gives?!).  I guess I like that part.  I do not like the extra skin on my stomach after Ben (never had that issue after Kate) or my post-BFing boobs.
  • I was super young when I got pregnant with E (21). I was super-skinny. I liked that the body was tight, but there was not a curve to it.

I like my curves now, love that I have a decent size chest (but oh, the sagging!). I like my body with clothes on, but hate how I look naked. I'm dreading the beach next summer!

This, except I have two boys. I used to have a body that I was very comfortable with. Now, not so much.

  • Before. Way better. I wish I had appreciated it when I had it. I never reached my prepregnancy weight before getting pregnant again. Then again I worked out every day before kids. I have big plans to get back to that weight as soon as I can after this kiddo pops out!

  • Before I had kids, I was completely prepared for my body to be wrecked afterwards, but I am actually thinner now and my metabolism is better it seems.  Having kids helped me with the body issues I had before kids.  I have eased up on myself a lot.

My stomach is still flat, but my ab muscles separated a bit after Max and I have a weird indent thing going on now right above my belly button.  Its fairly obvious and it bugs me.

  • When I got married, I think my body was awesome - nice boobs & butt, stomach had muscle tone...  now?  23 pounds more, boobs are smaller, flatter, and saggier, no stomach muscles (they separated and just don't seem like they'll ever recover,) not that you could see them through the wrinkly extra twin skin, and my butt is just fat.  Looking in the mirror is so depressing.

On the bright side, I don't have a single stretch mark.

  • Before. Definitely. I've always been petite and thin (before and after these 2 kids) but my boobs got SMALLER after I finished BF'g DD#1 and after DD#2 I have a few stretch marks on tummy and extra skin (which I never had after dd#1). It's semi-depressing.

Mine is actually about the same!
  • Not much good about this post pg body.  Pre kids I was a marathon runner. Now I run when being chased or when chasing my kids.  I'm only a few lbs bigger, but things are in different places now.  My boobs went from being little melons to bananas. My face looks like that of a teenager. A 38 year old shouldn't have this much acne.  I only get a small amount of pride from the fact that this body birthed two children.  Love my kids, but hate the body it left me with.  Need to get a treadmill stat!

  • hahahahah

before, of course! Esp after twins!

  • I didn't have very many stretch marks prior to DD.  I also was toned all over, without trying.

Now, I'm glad I have bigger boobs.  They aren't pretty, but they look better in clothes.  That's about it!  LOL

  • Before: flatter stomach, thinner everywhere, no stretch marks, less flabby

After: slightly bigger breasts (although they're floppy now, so maybe firm smaller is better)

  • Pre-preggo- I was thin and I had pretty great boobs.  They were small but very perky!

Post-Preg- I am thinner and have a more athletic shape.  My arms, abs and legs are more muscular and look so much better.   Besides a few stretchmarks on my butt, and the complete lack of boobs now...overall I think my body is much better!
