I thought I heard somewhere that the APA recommends babies sleep in a bassinet in the parents' room for the first 3 months because of the reduced risk of SIDS. I did some googling but couldn't find anything to back that up.
I hate feeling like I have to justify my actions for other people.. Blah.
Re: Baby sleeping in our room...
You'll get it no matter what. Dr. Sears actually recommends it, but of course he is pro sleep sharing.
DS slept in our bed for 18 months, so I've heard it all. We can't wait to sleep share with Sydney!
it is aap ;o)
Where Is The Safest Place For My Baby To Sleep? The safest place for your baby to sleep is in the room where you sleep. Place the baby?s crib or bassinet near your bed (within an arm?s reach). This makes it easier to breastfeed and to bond with your baby. The crib or bassinet should be free from toys, soft bedding, blankets, and pillows. (See picture on next page.) A Parents?
