2nd Trimester

NBR-Boxer dog lovers, or pets in general!

Accidentally hijacked someone's crib thread, so I thought I'd do this!

I have two brindle boxers, and I LOVE them!! Several of my friends have also gotten boxers as a result of them loving my girls so much! They are sisters from the same litter, and they are 3 years old, and each weighs (gasp!) about 79 pounds! Yes, they occasionally sleep in the bed with us, and even with a King size bed, we sometimes get pushed out!

LOL!! I agree, my parents have 3 cats and a boston staffordshire terrier, and the cats definitely rule the house! He(the dog Buster) gets slapped and hissed into submission at least once a day!

Lol, that sounds about right!!  We were actually thinking about getting a boxer before hand!  DH looooves boxers (I do too) but he had two growing up and just raves about them!

  • I really cant wait til the baby gets here and is able to start moving around, my girls are going to LOVE a baby! I have had them around children of all ages, and they know instinctively who they can play with and who they can't. My 2 1/2 y.o. nephew loves to crawl under the coffee table with them and have barking contests! My dogs are really spoiled as well, and they are members of our family, just as much as a baby will be. I know at first it will be challenging giving them the attention/loving that they are used to, but I'm pretty sure it will work out just fine!!!
  • I don't have dogs, but I love them too. I want a big dog one day. I have two cats that are great. They are my family too.

  • as i said in a previous post, my parents have 3 cats. i neglected to mention that they were mine before I moved out, they refused to let me take them when i did, they were so attached. two of them slept on my legs and chest, and the others with my mom. (we did have 4, but had to put one to sleep last Christmas due to renal failure, but she was like 20 or 21 years old!!!) I miss my kitties, but a stray has adopted us, but it cannot come inside, my MIL is deathly allergic!
  • We have 2 boxers too. Rarely, do I call them that though, as we just refer to them as "the kids." We talk to them all the time about how they will have a little brother soon. This will be our first baby, and as rowdy as they are with each other they are absolutely amazing with children. So patient and calm. Boxers love their families. Our male tries to sneak in the bed almost every night. And I must say I love snuggling with him but we're trying to break the habit. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them.

  • I got my boxer, Rufus, and was really afraid of him at first! Hahaha, we always had older dogs and he was a wild 6mo old boy! He's turned into the absolute (doggy) love of my life! DH even jokes that I love Rufus more than him! I am a little worried how he'll take to the baby, since I've always babied him... But he loves to cuddle with my tummy now... I think he "knows"! Haha
  • I also 2 boxers, fawn with black masks but i am foster mommy too for my local boxer rescue group (www.lsbr.org) and i have had all ages shapes and sizes:)

They are amazing dogs, thought mine have never been around kids, i hope all goes well! I have faith that they will adjust quickly. They are my babies, and sleep with us most nights:)

  • We love boxers as well.  They are such babies.  My Dh had 2 when we met.  long story short his brother has them and wouldnt give them back.  We now own a house and have one of our very own.  Guinness, who plays nice with my yorkie.  I would get another one in a hearbeat.  Hes sleeping with his head on my lap at the moment
  • We have 2 great danes and a rottie/shepard mix.  We thought about adopting boxers before we settled on danes, but we are pretty lazy and didn't want the high energy of a boxer.   But I LOVE when I transort them for rescues-they are definitely one of my favorite breeds.
  • DH had a boxer before and she was really amazing so when we went to get a dog there was no other option.. although I really do love the great danes too. I just love big dogs!

Dylan (our flashy brindle boxer) is just under a year old and we weighed him just now and he's already 69 pounds! Such a cuddler :)?
