First Time Mom Needs Stroller Advice!

I'm shopping for a stroller that is compatible with an infant car seat, but will be able to grow with our baby, who is arriving in April.  I'd like to buy just one stroller that will transition from newborn to toddler with us, but there are sooo many options out there.  My best friend recommended the Bugaboo Bee (she also recommended finding one on craigslist for a better deal since they are a bit $$$).

Do you have a Bee or another style of stroller that you can recommend?  I'd really appreciate your thoughts!!

  • Depending on what you guys do on a daily basis, type of area you're in will depend on the stroller you're going to want.

If you walk a lot I would get a jogger with a car seat adapter. I have a BOB that I've have for about 5 years and it's still in great shape. I have heard good things of the bumbleride indie also.

  • We have this one.  It is nice because you can use it with most infant carriers (there is an adapter piece) the seat can face forward or backward, and it is very lightweight and grows with LO.

  • I responded to your other post, but I have the Bugaboo Frog and love it.

If you do go with the Bee, remember, it is just a lightweight stroller.  If you do a lot of walking you might want something like a Frog or a Bob.

Bugaboo will also be releasing an improved version of the Bee sometime in 2010, you might want to wait for it, the first version has some glitches and they fixed them.

  • I think the baby jogger city or elite, mountain buggy urban, and bumble ride are the nicest, most useful.  You might still want to get a snap n go and a umbrella, but you can do that for a little over $100.  I would not buy a stroller based on whether or not it was carseat compatible.  This is something you will likely only use when they are very young and only when you are shopping at places that don't have carts.

I have the Mountain buggy Urban and cannot say enough good about it.  I have a bassinet for it, which I used for the first 6 months that I loved.  My neighbors both bought them after trying it.

The bob, which you will get a lot of recs for is nice, but it is really big compared to others and not really worth the additional size unless you are a true runner.

One more that is a great stroller and sometimes comes up on mama bargins is the Easy Walker sky.

I'm going to have to 2nd this recommendation.
