* I posted this on 0-3 but you ladies always help me out more *
Ok, many of you know I'm a first timer. Carter has been up for hours screaming. He's never screamed this much ever. He's been fussy off and on for about a week, had a small cold the week before Christmas, and now is a bit wheezy. We finally got him to sleep but I think it was more he screamed himself tired despite us holding him, wearing him, walking him, laying down with him, anything. He also has been having green poop and I'm BFing. We've cut out dairy (not that I ate much anyway since it upsets my tummy) but it didn't go away and the only other thing different in my diet was adding mother's milk tea to make sure I kept my supply up. So my questions:
1) Should I go out to Wal Mart and get a humidifier to see if that helps with his little bit of wheeziness for tonight?
2) Should I just take him to the urgent care to get checked out since this is off and on for a while?
3) Should I try and see how the night goes and then decide in the morning?
His pedi has the "Let's try everything else first" approach (which is fine with me) but I think it might be at that point where something really is wrong that I can't control. Advice please...DH and I are totally torn about what to do. TIA.
Re: Wheezy Baby Help!
Call your pedi and if you don't like their answer go to an urgent care type place. Don't feel silly or like you are making too much out of it. If he has had a cold for that long he could also have an ear infection. Very easy for babies to get. Logan had about 13 of them in 10 months. They made him inconsolable. I agree with what Beth said too. Wheezing means it is hard for him to breath.
I hope he feels better real soon. It is so hard when you feel helpless.

No offense but why do you have to convince your DH to let you call the ped about your baby? That's crazy. IF your DH doesn't want to go to the doc, he doesn't have to. BUt a 2 month old baby cant' tell you what's wrong. I would 100% call the ped about the wheezing. That can be serious.
On the green poop thing - the only people who seem to worry about green poops are internet people. I've asked LCs and my ped about it and they all say green is perfectly normal.
I agree with Jill...Pedi told us green poop in breastfed babies is totally normal.
We haven't been through this yet, but I did take Liam into the pedi for something that turned out to be nothing. Do not regret it one bit. It was totally worth the piece of mind and I needed the face-to-face contact to make sure what we were experiencing was normal.
I hope Carter feels better soon!
Alright, we are back from the Urgent Care. Poor Carter has an icky cold that has him all clogged which is where the wheezing sound was coming from. He does have a slight fever so we are giving him some Motrin and lots of cuddles. We did go out and buy a humidifier and the Dr said to have Carter sleep in his car seat for a night or two.
I felt slightly stupid that it wasn't really anything but I'm glad for my sake that I took him in just to get checked. There is all of this conflicting information about green poop so I wasn't sure, but it is all fine. Carter is resting now and I'm just going to cuddle him all he wants until he feels better.
