Pregnant after a Loss

Anybody else just feel

sickin the first trimester? I can't explain it, not nauseous or vomiting just sick. I feel ok first thing in the morning then I just feel real sick all day. Food seems gross water is hard to drink but if I find something I can eat sometimes I feel better. I can't find much written about it and I was wondering if anyone feels it?

Re: Anybody else just feel

  • Yes, I am that way.  Sometimes I did throw up but a lot of time I just felt horrible.  As much as you aren't going to want to do it, try to eat something with protein every 2 hours, it will help keep your blood sugar levels even.

  • That's how I felt for a long time... just TRY to eat something, it may seem very unappealing but its SOOO much better than feeling GREEN all day long. And keep snacking all day, crackers, cheese, granola bars, veggies and dip... lots of small healthy snacks. The unhealthy ones do not work as well, you feel sick because your baby is taking vitamins from you that you are used to having.

(That's what my DR told me and from what I can tell its VERY true)

  • Yep...I still can't drink water :-s. Def try to eat something every couple of hours. I noticed I felt worse if I didn't eat. I also ate a lot of soups.

  • I find sucking on a piece of hard candy or a lifesaver helps a bit.
  • Yup.  I feel nauseous from time to time, but that seems to be easing up, however, lately, I've just felt "blah" and tired and not really achey, but kind of, if that makes sense.  DH keeps joking that something must be sucking the life force out of me.... I wonder what it could be... Wink

  • I'm that way, protein helps me a little, but not always. it's hard finding things that are appetizing. I've not once thrown up, but I feel like I want to in the evening.

  • I have only thrown up once, but I have felt nauseous consistenly since week 6. I take my prenatal vitamin at night before bed and that helped a bit. When I do feel like eating, I try to get as many nutrients as possible in that one meal (ex. I add cheese to everything, add carnation instant breakfast to my milk, and keep lil snacks around so I have something when the mood hits me).

A lot of times after I eat, I feel sick again, but at least I know I got a little something in me while I could.

I hope you feel better soon!!!

  • sorry you're not feeling great - hope you feel better soon ! ;)
  • i'm this way too.  i haven't thrown up and i kind of feel like i ate too much even though i didn't, and finding things to eat is hard but i do find if i eat something i feel better.
