My lower back and tail bone have been giving me some troubles. Last time I really pushed it on the treadmill I was sore for days and could barely move. Maybe I'm just a big whimp but it hurt! I want to try and do some LIGHT walking and perhaps some yoga. What kind of exercise are you doing?
Re: Do you exercise while PG?
I'm basically walking on our treadmill and/or biking at the gym at this point. I had been doing some light eliptical but it just hasn't appealed to me lately. I honestly do feel a ton better once I have done it. However there are some days when my back just will NOT let me walk on the treadmill so I give myself those days off. I have to. From what I hear the more you exercise your back is supposed to feel better overall...
And I have a yoga DVD but haven't tried it yet. Thanks for reminding me!
I go to water aerobics 2x per week - I LOVE IT. I swim around with a bunch of old ladies at the Y and feel weightless for an hour. It's probably not a "hard" workout but it's the only time my sciatic nerve doesn't hurt.
I highly reccommend swimming or water aerobics. My local Y does it without a membership for $10/class or free with membership. I had to get over my fear of being in a bathing suit around humans, but it's totally worth it. Just floating in the water relieves so much stress!!
Yoga... I think it's kept me in good shape, flexible, feeling good, sleeping well, etc.
I was painting for work until about 34 weeks so that was pretty physically demanding as well, but at a certain point I couldn't do it anymore.
I've done some light strength training, spin classes, walking ~ and a strength & yoga dvd
I am searching for a local prenatal yoga
This is such a good idea!! Maybe I'll look into water aerobic classes near me! Thanks for posting
No exercise here. I used to workout pre-pregnancy like 3-4 times a week. but, with this bfp, i was too scared at first. then m/s kicked in and i was too busy feeling like shiit and puking in the evening. When it finally went away at 17 weeks, I learned placenta was low. So, def not doing anything now.
oh wells....

Here's a list of YMCA's in your area; I don't know if any of them are close to you but there sure seem like a whole bunch of 'em. Every Y I've ever seen has a pool. Y membership is usually around $40/month.

Plus, after the baby's born, you can do baby swim. So fun!
I took it easy until the 2nd tri b/c I was paranoid, but then it's been elliptical twice per week for about 25 min and yoga 1-2 times per week (prenatal class about 45 min and the regular class 1 1/2 hours). The instructor for the reg class is fantastic about helping modify so it's been no problem to continue. Looking forward to this afternoon- may be my last week, but we'll see.
Yes, definitely don't push yourself too hard, esp. if you haven't been working out, but you may find a little introductory prenatal yoga is gentle but still helps. I also go to a chiropractor about once per month and that includes a little massage from a physical therapist. Doesn't eliminate all aches & pains, but it sure helps!
I had just started getting back into exercising when I got my BFP. Then I was way too nervous to do anything...that turned into being too tired to do anything. I still don't have much energy (2nd tri energy my butt). I talked to my doctor and she said a little exercise each day would hopefully give me some extra energy. Also, since I need to watch my weight gain, exercise should help:)
So my goal is to start walking on the treadmill 30 min a day. Nothing strenuous but just something to get me off the couch. Hopefully it sticks.
I walk 6 miles every Sunday morning (I'm a part of a running club but since I'm pregnant everyone is walking with me once a week)... and do Yoga 2-3 times a week. I didn't do yoga in my first trimester because I was restricted from bending etc... I have one prenatal yoga DVD that I got but I am looking for a few more, just to change things up.
I feel better than ever right now.
My peri and RE both don't want me doing a lot of exercising during this pregnancy. I am allowed to walk, so I have been walking on the treadmill for about an hour 3-5 times a week.
