"Baby Signing Time" is...

Re: "Baby Signing Time" is...

  • OK maybe I'm the only one.

"Baby Signing Time is... super annoying but I am now a slave to it because it is the only way I can get DS to eat his breakfast."

Does anyone else have these DVDs? Love them? Hate them?

  • I guess I am out of the loop - they are DVD's?

  • Are they videos that teach sign language?  I was actually looking for some.  All we have is a Baby Einstein video. Yesterday it was on and I really didn't think DS was watching it.  Later on in the day he said "baby" and did the sign.  I was actually kind of amazed...that is not a word we have ever taught DS to sign, so he picked it up from the video.

In truth they're awesome, especially for teaching basic signs, but the silly songs are suuuuper catchy.

  • .."The best thing ever!" ?Angie loves those videos and her signing and vocab is through the roof from Alex, LEah & Hopkins!!

  • awesome.  My DD loves them.  We jsut got her volume 2 for Christmas.  She has taught herself so many signs just by watching it.  She even requests it all the time now.

  • .....an excellent, fun way to expose your dc and yourself to signing.

  • completely wonderful in a very repetitive, better get every one so you can watch more than the same one over and over kind of way. Stick out tongue

DD is newly deaf from meningitis and she has new cochlear implants but will have ASL as a second language, so we watch these for reasons beyond the early baby communication reasons, but I think they are done in a way that parents aren't completely annoyed like I find some other baby videos, so I am fine playing them at mealtimes, like pp mentioned.

So, I love them, but hate watching them more than twice a day because they are kinda short if you're child is interested.  DD started mimicing the signs after watching it just once,  Now she knows the whole "New Day" video by heart.

    Enjoy!
