Has anyone had headaches almost daily?

What are you doing about them. I have been taking Tylenol every few days it seems. I don't want to take it unless absoutely needed but the headaches are afwful lately.

Re: Has anyone had headaches almost daily?

  • yes! it seems like they come and go and some days it's there and others (today!) they aren't.  for a few days this week, i was waking up with them, getting one in the middle of the day or at night. i take tylenol.

  • Up until about 20 weeks I was having headaches ALL THE TIME!  It got to the point that I wasn't taking Tylenol because it wasn't even helping.  I'm not sure if this will help you but no joke, I drank a Pepsi and it really helped.  I'm not sure why... I hadn't had soda since BFP at 3 weeks but for some reason, it did.

  • OMG YES.  I've had a headache all day.  It seems I get them every other day or so........ drinking water helps, but I still need the Tylenol- I hate having to take it, but it's unbearable otherwise.  It sucks though because the Tylenol doesn't even really work for me- I want my Excedrin! Crying

  • Girl, I dealt w/headaches DAILY in my last PG, from week 13 to week 28. Every single day non stop. It was terrible. From the moment I opened my eyes in the a.m. it was there and I took 2 tylenol daily for 15 wks! I also did a small cup of caffeine on some mornings cause that seemed to help. I was praying it wouldn't happen to me again this time but around week 13 yep here they come again. I have been lucky though cause this time it's not so much daily "yet" but about every other day or 1 out of 3 days i get the headache. Not fun trust me I know it sucks! Sometimes I would rotate between tylenol and a small bit of coffee with caffeine and it helped. I hated doing each of them but I had/have to just to make it through the day. Good luck.

  • yea i had them everyday for like 2 weeks. doc said i can take as much tylonal as bottle says so i was taking 1-2 every 6-8 hours. now i am sick and he has me taking tylonal for my sore throat
  • I've been getting them quite a bit the past couple weeks I'm not sure if its holiday stress or baby related.  I'm trying to limit the amount of tylenol I'm taking too, but I've noticed a little bit of caffeine helps (by little bit I mean I'm drinking about half of a half-caf cup of coffee).  Good luck, I hope you find some relief!

  • Yep, I also found they hit about the same time when they happen. It makes the last hour of the school day go sooo slow. I just come home and try and rest. I am trying to avoid taking Tylenol as much as I can. I have been lucky and haven't been getting migraines like I usual do though so I guess I can deal wth the headaches.

  • Talk to your doctor. They may be migraines and not just headaches. I didn't have them before getting pregnant and just started around 15 weeks. They can be miserable and last for days. My doctor perscribed Maxalt. It is the only migraine medicine that you are alowed to take while pregnant. The medicine is a huge help becuase tylenol was not doing a thing.

  • I was but not in the last few weeks (except yesterday.)  Tylenol did help if I took it every 4-6 hrs though so I just went with that.

The Tylenol isn't doing a thing for me either. I didn't think that there was another option, honestly. From what I've heard about migraines, I'm not having them but rather just really bad headaches. Thanks for posting this! I'm writing this down to remind myself to take about that medication with my doctor. The headaches are unbearable!

  • I've been getting them every few days...I have been just dealing with them and not taking anything, but if they hang around long enough, I'll probably take some Tylenol.  I never get headaches/migraines so it's been annoying.

  • I've been getting some horribly weird ones, which is most likely from a nerve my OB told me... bleh so I can't really help on this one.

My mom would get migranes so bad that she'd projectile vomit from them...

Drink water and keep hydrated is all I can suggest. :)

  • Between 16 and 19 weeks they were constant... I went to the doctor and he said it was a normal vascular head ache, they magically stopped one day like the doctor said they would.

  • When I was around 16 weeks I had horrible headaches and my OB gave me a Rx for some Tylenol 3's, those little babies helped out a lot.
  • I feel like I get a headache every day.  Shoulder rubs from H help a little, but not too much.  I don't take anything for them.

  • not in this pregnancy, but when i was pg with my daughter i had terrible headaches every day in the 2nd tri.  they were so bad they would bring me to my knees in tears.  my doc finally prescribed a medication that is typically used to lower blood pressure - my bp was fine, but the meds helped to dilate the blood vessels in my head, preventing headaches.  if i felt one coming on, i would drink caffeine and take tylenol.
  • I had awful headaches until 18 or so weeks. thank goodness! my doctors told me is was hormonal and would eventually go away.

  • Once I hit 15 weeks, the headaches were constant. I had cut caffeine from my diet (except for the OCCASSIONAL decaf latte). I didn't like taking tylenol so often, so I started drinking one cup of green or white tea in the morning, and voila, no more headaches. Of course not everyone takes it as light on the caffeine as I do, so this may not be your problem.  Good luck!
  • Glad to hear it's not just me ladies!!! (not that I thought it was:)  Either way, thanks for all the great tips!  I am going to talk to the doc at my next visit, but that is not for another 2 weeks!
