We lost our baby when I was 5 months pregnant in August. I was well into the maternity clothes stage. I never lost all of the weight I gained in my pregnancy. I didn't feel comfortable emotionally in my maternity clothes, but I certainly haven't been comfortable in my regular clothes. I didnt want to buy bigger clothes as I thought it might be more incentive to lose weight. It obviously wasn't.
DH and I are going to NYC for the weekend. I'm 4.5 weeks pregnant and I just pulled out my maternity jeans and they are SO COMFY. I'm not claiming I'm "showing" but just still a little tubbier than I was a year ago. But its nice to be back in them, even if it is just for a few extra pounds.
Re: Confession
So sorry to hear about your loss. We also lost our baby at 5 months in August. I was really enjoying maternity clothes, but had to put them all away, because like you said it is emotional to be wearing them.
I haven't pulled my out yet, but am excited to need them again. I think it is great you get to wear them again! Even if you don't need them for a bump, you are pregnant! Congrats
Pregnancy #2: Sucess! DS born 8-30-10
I had an emergency c-section at 30 weeks last February and have an incision from my belly button down to my pubic bone. I lost a lot of weight right after the loss of my daughter but once I started eating again I gained more weight than when I was pregnant. I understand and I actually never stopped wearing my maternity pants-basically for comfort reasons.
Embrace the maternity jeans and be comfortable!
