I'm supposed to check mine one hour after eating. I've seen a lot of ladies who are testing either one hour after or two hours after on this board, so I think it pretty much depends on the physician.
Ditto pp. My peri wants me testing 2 hours after I begin eating. My number should not exceed 120. I think if testing at 1 hour, it can be 140 (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
I understand all that and do realize that some people test after 1 hour or 2 hours with varying numbers. Just wanted to see if anyone knew when your actual blood sugar levels peaked after eating, regardless of when you are testing.

From what I have been told, it can really depend on what you are eating. For example, at the diabetes education office I was told that full fat dairy products can extend the life of carbs and make you peak later.
Re: Blood Sugar Peak...
I have to test 1 hour after I am done eating and my number has to be below 130.
